Can it cause sepsis?

My nephew had that a month or so back, no idea on sepsis tho

I had it when i was a kid, maybe 7/8ish. I think in rare cases it can cause sepsis

Can ruptured appendix cause sepsis.? And can scarlet fever cause ruptured appendix?

Both my kids had it 7 - and - 6 years ago (not at the same time, oldest had it, then youngest had it almost exactly one year later - very odd timing) and yes it can cause sepsis and is quite dangerous without antibiotics, but manageable with antibiotics. It's the "sickest looking" my eldest has ever been, she looked like a little ghost and lost a lot of weight. My youngest took it in her stride and had a bit of a fever for 3/4 days and that was it. Again antibiotics are key it's not one to try to "power through" - meningitis/sepsis is a big risk with scarlett fever.

A ruptured appendix is a HUGE sepsis risk and is why a lot of people die from a burst appendix. You don't actually need the appendix. It's all the toxic **** it pours into your torso if it ruptures that'll kill you.

For the second part, seemingly SF can on very rare occasions cause appendicitis (which if bad enough could cause a ruptured appendix) but it's not a common side effect. So "It is possible but not likely" on that one.

Not had Scarlett fever but sepsis is VERY VERY VERY DANGEROUS.

Probably a greater threat to life than cancer.

Yeah, my grand daughter gave us all a big fright last weekend, she like a different wee girl today though..she's such a warrior, and lucky to have parents that insisted she remains in hospital or she would have been sent home with rupturing appendix.

Even a common cold can lead to sepsis in some cases, so I’d imagine SF definitely can.

It's a huge risk and why Scarlett Fever as once upon a time a big cause of infant/child mortality (before antibiotics existed). Very manageable with antibiotics as they're very effective against it (it's caused by a strep A infection) but NOT an illness where you can rely on the immune system/try to tackle it without meds, it's really dangerous.

When my eldest had it she was going through a phase of being very anxious about/refusing to take meds of any kind and it was so damn stressful . She was about 8 or 9... we were getting desperate saying "You have to take it, you really have to, you could get really ill and end up in hospital" and being met with "I'd rather do that" . Literally had to tell her she could die and relentlessly hound her to take the damn pill, frantic at 2am. She probably has trauma from it .
