Nothing in excess

Well I think I'd be understating things if I said the Sonic series was no longer in its prime, but it turns out the next Sonic game will be yet another reboot (take 3). This time it looks like Sega have taken the fan feedback on board, returned to Sonic's 2D roots and will be releasing the new game episodically as a downloadable title.
Here is the latest teaser And here is an interview with the developers. http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/action/pr...&mode=previews Is anyone excited or simply 'meh' about this? Personally, I'm over the moon.

I'll be downloading it as soon as it comes out. It might help the Sonic series to recover from its image as a bit of a laughing stock.
This video would be an example of where it all went a bit pear-shaped. It must have been somebody's idea of a joke.

I hate these games but I must say im glad that Sega arent being like Nintendo and ruining the game like they did with Mario.
Mario Kart was the last good Mario Game, its went downhill now. Im glad how Sega have obviously went and thought about making this game good, they didnt do what Nintendo did and release a new Mario Game every Year. And its good how its Sonic 4 and not some stupid spin off like 'Sonic Galaxy' or somthing Sonic Party 8'

. The difference between Sega and Nintendo is that Nintendo's kept the quality up. Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Galaxy... They've all been critical and commercial successes, I'll let you have the fact that Mario Party sucks but the quality of the Mario brand can't be denied really and I'm not even much of a fan. One thing Nintendo's good at is it's own first party franchises like Mario/Zelda ETC While Sega's best games tend to be published by them not made.
