it's because they are black unfortunately.
When I hung out with my black mates from school back in the late 90's we were stopped almost every other street when walking back from school.
My all white friends were never stopped with me.

Yeh same I come from a rough diverse area and the black lads used to get battered by the cops never mind just stopped the white lads never got that + the street/gang culture makes young black criminals more visible

I'm London-Irish and have been told of the persecution of my family in the 70's from police.
Does that mean we were all terrorists?
Stop them if you have genuine reasons to but the police didn't even give us a reason why they stopped us when we were 15.

I live in Fulham, South London where we have I think the highest stabbing rate and of coarse some profiling must go on but I know many 30 year old family orientated black men getting stopped.
It's a catch 22, there are knifes out there, they have to be searched but you have to be right in who you stop.

the police have a hard enough job without busybody quangos getting their liberal knickers in a twist. they would be better finding out why black youths get involved in crime and why most of them dont have dads at home or in their lives.

Its not just black youths that get involved in crime or have absent fathers, sure theres a problem with absent fathers/street gangs anyone from the black community would agree, but what use is there in singling the black community out when trying to solve a problem that invloves people from all backgrounds who are marginalised from society? , better to tackle the problem as a whole and each individual community involved need to step up and take action. When you've grown up in a poor area you can see perfectly well that theres criminal behaviour going on from white and ethnic minority groups, you just might be more likely to get yer spliff and crack from a black man and your e's and whizz from a white man, but it will be the minority groups that are more likely to get picked up for various reasons...and treated more harshly

It could be due to reported crimes with suspect descriptions, It could be due to crime figures in the area show most crimes were committed by non whites. It could be down to the fact the people were acting suspiciosly (hanging around in gangs then attempting to hide themselves from police). It could also be due to a lot of other factors, or it could also be due to plod in that area (the Met) are still institionally racist.

Isnt it great when a government funded body only points out one set of figures to get a little bit of publicity when they know that they will have to account for themselves in possible future budget cuts, though they no doubt have access to all the relevant information from which a more balanced view could be produced?

I've lived in Burnley, its easy to see why, 90% of the black people who lived there were violent chavs...and I'm being serious, not dramatic

Okay, 90% of the black people I met in Burnley wanted to psychically harm me and people I knew for just walking through a ethenic area, that good enough?

A better culture meaning, I dont fear for my life when walking home in the dark? I'd say thats a better culture after living in the ****hole named Burnley

I'm not saying its all black people who are nasty in Bunrley, most of the population are ignorant bastards, what I'm trying to say, if thats the only exposure some people have had to other cultures, can you really blame them for being suspicious? (I personally am not, but a lot of people I knew growing up was) It's like Blackpuddlians complaining about Polish people (who have have NO problem with)

From the way you worded your replies, I think you were getting my theory of why people are racist confused with my personal opinion, I personally think everyone should be equal in the world, everyone deserves an equal chance of life, though of course, this is real life and that wont happen
