When I hung out with my black mates from school back in the late 90's we were stopped almost every other street when walking back from school.
My all white friends were never stopped with me.

that black young men are more likely to be involved in crime and so the police are more likely to stop them?

Yeh same I come from a rough diverse area and the black lads used to get battered by the cops never mind just stopped the white lads never got that + the street/gang culture makes young black criminals more visible
