Pardon me for saying this but the tory MP is right it is like a bag over the head. Why waste money on a police investigation for that, besides it was in the commons during a debate and as such is not a police matter.

people on this forum break the law every day with drug taking (and boast about it) but I do not recall you moaning about that

Yes, people break the law everyday, I do it myself, I have been guilty of speeding in my car and using my mobile whilst driving yes, I have also been caught using my mobile whilst driving and I had to pay the fine I was given because I broke the law, I can't see what your point here is?

And as for the IRA comment, that's a whole other argument LT which I really have no desire getting into again thanks very much.

This MP should have been prosecuted for incitement to racial hatred. How dare he try and hide behind so called parliamentary privilege, which does not extend to here.

Shasown by saying what he has could be in violation of the law himself, and this could have legal repercussions on the owners of TIBB. I invite Shasown therefore to edit out his remarks before the moderators have to do it, to be in compliance with the law.

How is it disrespectful. Suppose a burka wearer was at a local government office and the person serving them is profoundly deaf but can lip read. What do you advise? Surely it is disresepctful of a school of religion to expect women to dress up like this, as the religion views the woman totally at fault in causing lustful thoughts in men?

Its disrespectful to totally disregard someones beliefs and customs and make jokes about it in the public domain....Its unlikely a profoundly deaf person would be serving on the frontline like that...I think most people who wear a burkha would know when its innapropriate to wear it etc

Obviously then you are unaware of the local government regulations about employing disabled people.

Oh so they have a choice when to wear it and when not? Like wear it out shopping, calling into the local post office etc, but not when night clubbing etc?

Given we in the west dont like being confronted by people wearing masks etc, isnt it disrespectful to our culture to wear an item of clothing that discriminates against women?

Yes but some women choose to wear it and that is what "our" culture is all about, choice, freedom...yes there are women who are forced to wear it which isnt tolerable but some women buy into it and who are we to say they can't. There are situations where they wouldnt wear the full burkha ask someone that wears one....yes Im well aware of the council's disabled policy but how many deaf frontline staff have you met? Besides picking randomaly hypothetical situations is daft...lets look at the facts, are peoples lives detrimentaly affected by people in burkhas? Have you or anyone you know ever encountered problems that couldnt be solved because someone was in a burkha?

The problem with regarding what people do as based on beliefs is a false one.........Beliefs so called are as a result of religious brain washing and diciplin imposed and fed into from childhood. By adult hood its too late there is no such thing as free will..The damage is done.........Nothing to do with beliefs everything to do with human religious conditioning of the young right into adulthood......

look if thats the way they choose to look at life and live their lives, theyre not hurting anyone and seriously when was your life affected by a burkha wearer?...only the ignorant care so whats the problem? Most religious people want to live in peace and harmony and live a good and humble life...a few dont obviously...ditto theres a few that are brainwashed...but also many that live the way they do out of choice
