Unfortunately I don't think it will be the lib dems.. Labour however are the only part other than lib dems that can keep control of the country. I think Britain will just get worse if the tories get into power. I wouldn't get out your champers for too long.

1. Lied to the public and the other parties about the WMD in Iraq and took us into an illegal war causing the deaths of thousands of British servicemen (some just teenagers), and thousands of innocent Iraquis. And what for? to crawl up Bush's backside so the Americans could gain control of the oil supplies. 2. Uncontrolled immigration resulting in virtual collapse of our infrastructure. They have no real idea of how many ILLEGAL immigrants are here either - (Lib Dems want to give them amnesty!!). Maybe part of a cynical Labour ploy to import voters! 3. Reckless borrowing that will see us in debt for decades to come, because Labour's answer to everything is to throw money at it. 4. Being governed by EEC laws that take precedence over ours and common sense. 5. Corrupt Labour MPs caught red handed with their hands in the till (yes I know other parties' MPs were also invovled but Labour is supposed to be the Party of the working classes, who were going to end all the sleaze and ended up being the sleaziest ones of all). 6. Hypocritical Labour MPs sending THEIR kids to private schools whilst ending Assisted Places for poor kids; T.HEY have private health insurance, we have long queues and an NHS in crisis; THEY have lovely homes in leafy suburbs; we have a job finding rented accommodation never mind getting on the housing ladder; They have gilt edged jobs with massive pensions; we have redundancies and the dole queue. So PLEASE spare me the BS. As for LibDems, what do they know about running the country? They are simply a watered down version of New Labour. What this country NEEDS is a complete change of direction, and the only viable party to do that is the Conservatives.

No not really, regardless of who comes out on top sooner or later there will have to be some hard financial decisions made, this country is up to its eyes in debts and the only viable way to reduce it is to either have savage public sector spending cuts, increase taxation or a mixture of the two.
The Governor of the Bank of England recently said that whoever gets into government next will in order to sort out the economy etc, have to take drastic actions to right the problems, these actions will make them so unpopular that they would when voted out never get back into power for about 25 years, meaning they would be despised for a generation. Not a nice prospect for any party. Given that the Institute of Fiscal Studies reckons that none of the major parties manifestos and action plans actually go far enough to deal with the crisis. Whoever gets in will definately have their work cut out, and we the public will end up paying through the nose to sort out the mess left by this current government. Make no mistake about it, if you think the early 80's were tight cleaning up the last Labour Governments mess, you aint seen nothing yet. |

I dont know alot about this, but when will we find out who wins this whole thing and how do we find out?
Is it like Big Brother were they have a presenter and Brown, Clegg and Cameron all sit in a room and hear who wins? You get me? And will the result be on Friday?

Yeah the election result will be announced on Friday, if there is an outright winner great, if not and the result is hung Gordon Brown stays on as a sort of caretaker PM, he can then try to bolster support by making deals with the smaller parties so that they will support him in return for things they want. This is called a coalition government.
The first time he loses a vote or if there is a call of no confidence in the Parliament, then chances are David Cameron will get the chance to form a government again if need be making deals with the smaller parties in order to get a sufficient majority to his policies through. The leaders of the parties generally go to their homes and wait then as the counts start to come in it may be one party takes a lead. The magic number is 326 seats if any party achieves that, thats your next government. Towards the end of the counts the leaders will go to their party's election headquarters to celebrate winning or to thank their party workers |

I always thought it was a bit like that too Patrick. They should do it like the X Factor. Have judges and Deadlock
It would make the election a lot more exciting.

No I don't look forward to that, but its not going to happen. I do think Gordon Brown will be PM after the election
I can't see a Liberal Democrat and Conservative coalition happening so the only way Gordon will be got rid of is by a Conservative majority, and that doesn't look very likely. There's a few days left and anything can happen before Thursday, it will be an interesting result. |

I will be very pleased. No party for me if the Tories win though.
