Nothing in excess

You can put them in order or not at all depending on your preference.
So which songs do you want to see die in a fire? ![]() Here are my choices. Andrew Lloyd Webber - "Time to Say Goodbye" (toe-curlingly saccharine) Andrew Lloyd Webber - "Pie Jesu" Bananarama - "T'ain't What You Do (It's the Way That You Do It)" Renee and Renato - "Save Your Love" Brian Adams - "Everything I Do (I Do it For You)" Wheatus - "Teenage Dirtbag" MC Hammer - "Can't Touch This" Jay Z - "99 Problems (But a Bitch Ain't One)" N.E.R.D. - "Lapdance" Nelly ft. Kelly Rowland - "Dilemma" Elton John - "Candle In the Wind '97" Paolo Nutini - "Candy" Phil Collins - "Against all Odds" Whitney Houston - "The Greatest Love of All" Eva Cassidy - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" Coldplay - "Fix You" Nickelback - "How You Remind Me" Queens of the Stone Age - "No One Knows" The Noisettes - "Never Forget You" R. Kelly - "I Believe I Can Fly" (actually, this would probably be my number 1 most hated if I put them in order) Honourable mentions: Mariah Carey - "Hero" (didn't make the list, because it has some comedy value) Everything Creed ever recorded (ditto)

how can you have a list like that when there's songs like Cheeky Girls :\
Fix You, No One Knows, Never Forget You and Teenage Dirtbag are great songs.

Songs that are imbued with excessive, childlike sentimentality (power ballads) or haughty, misogynistic swagger (mainstream gangster rap) are what I feel a more passionate dislike towards.

Trying not to make this too recent, but it would be easy to pick 20 from this year
...1. La Roux - Bulletproof 2. Florence + the Machine - You've Got The Love - sick. and. ****ing. tired. of. this. Candi Staton's is infinitely better. 3. "I'd Rather Jack (Than Fleetwood Mac)" - OFFENSIVE. FLEETWOOD ARE GODS. 4. Madonna - Candy Shop - oh god, love, put it away. 5. Professor Green (feat. Lily Allen) - Dub Be Good To Me - Beats International is UNTOUCHABLE. tossers. 6. Beyoncé - Check On It - ew. 7. Westlife - What About Now - another cover, another paycheck for another useless and ****e boyband. 8. Josh Dubovie - That Sounds Good To Me - does it, Pete Waterman? How does a guillotine sound? 9. Rihanna - Unfaithful - her voice in this really grates on me, it has a nails-on-blackboard effect. 10. DJ Ironik feat. a plethora of twats - Tiny Dancer - LEAVE ELTON THE **** ALONE. 11. Young Soul Rebels - I Got Soul - where do I start? The name is a barefaced lie - the artists participating have about as much soul and rebellious nature as Gyles Brandreth, it's a terrible cover of a great song. 12. Robbie Williams - Rudebox - oh dear. 13. David Bowie - God Only Knows - just to be fair...as much as I love him, this was a terrible decision. 14. Akon - Lonely - probably the most irritating song ever. 15. The Crazy Frog - almost as annoying. 16. Any X Factor Finalists cover. You Are Not Alone is marginally worst. 17. Whoever sang it first - Unchained Melody - just cringeworthy. 18. Cliff Richard - The Millenium Prayer - roflroflrofl 19. Anything Geri Halliwell did - "Look At Me" comes to mind. 20. Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby - never touch Bowie/Queen hooks.

Repetitive and boring IMO.
I can see the appeal, I just find it SO irritating. Hahaha, sorry I know you love the man, I just find it somewhat too much, but that's what Wagner did well. No doubt he's a musical genius, just really, really not my thing ![]() EDIT: Oh and just the 2nd movement of the Clarient Concerto really. Just find it dead dire. Fair enough, I just find them either boring/irritating/overplayed and jammed into your skull pushing you close to a muderous rampage. Last edited by LemonJam; 08-07-2010 at 10:20 PM. |

Not to mention patronising
Speaking of which... A spare bit of change is all that I give How is that gonna help when you've got nowhere to live? Some turn away so they don't see I bet you'd look if that were me How did you fall? Did you fall at all? Is it lonely where you are sleeping in between parked cars? When it thunders where do you hide from the storm? Could you ever forgive my self-pity? When you've got nothing and youire living on the streets of the city I couldn't live without my phone But you don't even have a home LOL
