Not sure whether this is good or bad news, to be honest. Being on such a small channel would probably just drive the ratings into the ground even more, and then the chances of it coming back in the future are therefore even slimmer.

Default what is channel 5 like?

this question sounds strange but what are they like? i mean are they all strict and snobby or will they be more lenient if they do get big brother? lots of people complaining about lack of booze this year, would C5 give them more booze? or am i just being stupid lol is it the actual channel ie C4 or C5 or the company ie endemol that decides on all that stuff? im asking because not many people watch C5 so they have nothing to lose if they make the show really controversial and pick really crazy people

If you've never watched it dont bother.

It'll do a good job IMO but it wont be the same. We need to savour this series cuz if 5 get it it wont look much like it does now.

Endemol produce the show, so as far as I'm aware, they have control over what housemates are chosen, and how much alcohol they receive.

However, I'm sure there has to be some agreement between the production company and the broadcasting channel. So in the case of C4, they have probably told Endemol on numerous occasions not to provide too much alcohol incase something controversial happens. Don't forget, C4 will always review the shows to ensure they are happy with what they are going to broadcast.

Five in theory should be more lenient, but then again they're a smaller channel and thus have a smaller budget...so I'm not sure how that would affect Endemol.

Channel 5 is Channel 4 with less morals which before Channel 5 came along was pretty much considered impossible

BB on channel 5 wouldn't be worth watching.

It would ruin things completely!

The alcohol was reduced because housemates became violent when they could not take their drink.

So it was housemates not BB that stopped the alcohol.

He says in that report:

"Big Brother is a well-known reality brand, but it's tired and so there are other reality programmes that could be more value to Channel 5."

that doesnt sound too promising

After this series I am now thinking it's better that it just dies.

I'd really love Channel 5 to take it over and run it properly, the way it was supposed to run back in 2000 when it debuted.

It became a shortcut to the London Party Scene after the second series, I want it to return to the social experiment it was supposed to be when they first aired it 10 years ago

Yup.
The problem arises though, where to find HMs willing to participate in the show that aren't camera savvy or media *****s.

Yes. Strip it down, make it more low key. 10 HMs only bring in a new hm if someone goes early on. A few little twists here and there but nothing big. give them the odd party with alcohol for birthdays.

It won't work! The hms will get bored and just leave. I agree that just put in 10 hms to start off with.. have an 8 week series.. have PLENTY of tasks, twists and games..... and give them plenty of parties and booze!!!!

That won't ever happen. I think channel 5 should take over bb.. a new format.. well same format.. just better housemates. 24 7 live feed should still be shown.. on internet or whatever.. but like maybe they should just have like.. an 8 week series of BB. 2 months could be long enough.. make it more into a gameshow????? like BBUSA?
