Thanks! I've recently found a love for crime books aswell. It's great how lots of different stories link together to create one. I can recommend a series if you'd like. It has me hooked!

Robert J Parker. His books are absolutely fantastic. They involve one main crime and a few crimes that stem off, and they all eventually merge together. It focuses on a chief of police, Jesse (Who is an alcoholic), and his officer, Molly, and how they solved the crimes and it tells the tale of their personal lives aswell. There isn't much description and it's largely based on dialogue but I read "Night and day" in a day.. it was that hooking! You can pick them up in most book stores for a few quid or at your library there may be some! Take a look if you like crime stories. It's really clever! |

Shaun Shaun woke up on the 17th of July at about 9am. His first lesson was at 1pm so he had all morning to go out with the group. He followed his usual morning routine. He plumped each cushion twice on each side and tucked his cover under his mattress, spending a few minutes trying to eliminate any creases that had been left. He picked up his bedroom bin and changed the bag. There was only a few bits of paper in the other bag but as Shaun walked across his room he couldn't help noticing a peice of paper sticking out, so he had no choice but to change it. He walked down the stairs counting each one until the end, every morning it would come to the same total. Shaun found this fact extremelly comforting. He would take 6 steps forward and 2 steps left and be in the kitchen, where dishes from the night before would be stacked high, covered in left-over food and crumbs that his siblings had left. Shaun shivered at the sight of the dishes and, like every morning, knew he had to clean them. He would use a tiny amount of water for each dish, but would change the water after washing each dish. If he didn't, the last dish would be washed in filthy water and that idea scared Shaun. He would pick up his water filter and fill it up, watching the water drip slowly as he thought about what he would do with his day. When there had been 76 drips, Shaun would pick up the water filter and tip it into a glass. He would then tip the water back into the filter to eliminate any chemicals that had managed to get through the first time. He did this three times before tipping it into a brand new glass and using it to take his daily vitamins. After this he went back upstairs and picked up his "Saturday clothes", all on one hanger, and got changed. Ticking the previous day off of his calendar, It read "2 months, 14 days until i'm 18". He went out of his room and turned around the sign on his door to "Gone out", spending a further 30 seconds making it straight. Shaun walked downstairs, counting the steps again, and picked up the phone. He wiped it over with an anti-bacterial wipe before dialing voicemail. He listened to the message he had been left from Laura. " Shaun.. Shaun.. Pick up the phone you lazy ass. It's me... Laura. Shaun? Shaun! Eugh. Meet us all in the park at 11. Ciao.." Shaun swallowed and struck a saddened look. He hated going out with his friends but knew that it was a major part of his recovery process. He hated putting on a false act around the people that thought they knew him so well. He hated the germs and bugs he would face on a daily basis, but was too afraid to reveal what he was really like, too afraid to do the things he would do if he was in the comfort of his own clean room, away from wonky lines and bad spellings. He'd get so angry, wishing that he could tell his friends about his real self, his anger had been boiling up inside him for the past 8 months and he had found no way to let it out. He'd just have to carry on. Shaun looked up at the clock. It was 9:43 but he decided to leave. He always left an hour early, just in case something delayed him or his clock was an hour slow. If it was an hour late then he'd be in an even better position as he'd be even more early. He smiled at this though as he walked through the porch and out of the house into the bright sunny outdoors, carrying an umbrella in his backpack in case it rained and he got wet. Enid's part written. Shall post them all at stages throughout the day tomorrow. Thanks to those who have read! The story will be told in a different format after they have all had their introductory parts.

Enid Enid woke up on the 17th of July at about 10:30am. Her phone had woken her and she thrashed her arms around trying to find it. A pair of saucy knickers flung in the air as she kicked her covers up in search for her phone, her eyes still half closed. She found it after 20 seconds and pressed a random button. Laura's high voice shrieked into her ear. "Enid? Is that you?" "What!" "Meet us down the park in quater of an hour! It's Andy's big day today and you've got to be there!" "Yeah, Whatever.." Enid hung up and put the phone on her floor, next to a pack of unopened condoms and the knickers that had flung across the room. She opened her top draw and picked up a money bag containing a note and £150. She read the note. "Until next time x" She smiled and rubbed her head, stumbling across the room to put the first clothes she could find on. She walked out of her room, slamming the door shut behind her and into the bathroom. She picked up a pack of morning after pills and put one into her mouth. She turned on the tap and drank straight from it, swallowing the pill and breathing a sigh. She rushed down the stairs in a hurry, she had never been a quite person and she banged like an elephant, running into the kitchen and picking up her purse. She looked at her calendar. She had an appointement that night so she knew she had to be home by 7 for tonights bloke. She wondered what he would be like and whether he would be decent. She shuddered at the thought of her bloke the night before, but when she had been paid it was all worth it. Enid wished she didn't have to do it. She knew that her life would never be the same after the first time and since she turned 16, she'd been meeting men at least twice a week. She hated living by herself but with no family, there was nothing else she could do. She needed the money and had to make a living the hard way. She was just 18 but she couldn't tell anyone. Enid would love to live the life she told her friends about. A life of luxury with the perfect parents in the perfect house, living the perfect life. The truth was far from that. She hated when her friends would talk about sex and how they've had it 37 times and were therefore the best, how they'd have sex at least once a week, how they'd show off about there sex lives. Andy was the worst for it. He'd complain about how his girlfriend would deny him when she was in a bad mood. He'd show off the next morning after a session. He'd talk about how he should become a gigalo and then get payed for unlimited sex. "That's the life", he would say. But he didn't know anything. Enid wanted them to know. Wanted them to know of the horrors she would go through if she got a bad guy. Her anger and upset would pile up inside her and there was no way she could let it out. It was her job, her life, so she had no choice but to live with it. She put the money from last night into her purse and stumbled out of the house, into the bright sun, heading off for the park. More later... |
