Ever think Ulrika said exactly what she meant. Some coloured peoples hair is tight and curly. She isnt exactly full of tact and diplomacy is she nor is she the brightest tool in the tool box now is she?

It's just one of those words that whites used to insult blacks back in those days, therefore the word just seems to have a "negative" meaning with it. The word might not be as strong as the word n*****, but it falls along those same offensive lines.

When people see photos of how restrooms, water fountains, etc.. were seperated into "whites" & "coloured", and the coloured one looked like a piece of sh*t, people associate that negative image with the word "coloured".

Right and 'pub' is a little offensive now too. The proper term is 'Public House' and 'Food and Drink Establishment' is acceptable too.
'Pub'

As for 'pubes' the proper term is 'pubic hair'. Ulrika is being a bit 'ethnocentric' because she supposes that everyone has curly pubic hair just because many white people do. It's racist towards natives and chinese.

and not long ago somewhere in America some parents refused to let their white children swim in a pool again because "colored " children swam in that pool whilst on a school trip
