X Factor favourite Matt Cardle reportedly 'exploded' with rage over Katie Waissel's claims that they had ended up in bed together and told her to "stop making stuff up".

It was reported yesterday that the pair got close after playing "a kissing game" in the house - but Matt is having none of it. He fumed at Katie: "I could never sleep with you."

The Sun reports the 27-year-old is convinced Katie made it all up to gain popularity before the voting closed on this weeks' show.

And insiders say that unpopular Katie has been "sucking up" to the more popular contestants.

While Matt admits they did go to his room together, he claims it was just to watch TV. He reportedly shouted at Katie after seeing the story: "What do you think you're doing? We were only watching TV - now it looks like we're an item.

"I've just come out of a relationship and I'm not about to get into another right now. Especially not with you. You're not my type.

"Stop making this stuff up. You've humiliated me and you won't have done yourself any favours."

Katie insisted she hadn't been behind the story, and according to sources, spent most of yesterday crying and being ignored by the rest of the contestants.

Matt Cardle is currently bookies' favourite to win this series of X Factor.

Exactly, it's okay as long as it's about people you dislike obviously

All these articles should be discarded immediately, they're written by morally corrupt and talentless writers that failed at a serious career in journalism and are rapidly approaching the end of their relevance due to the print industry dying a slow and painful death.

Blimey,all i said was these tabloids should get a grip,which they should and be writing stuff that is important in the world,when did I say the story was derogotary to anyone,you need to stop being so sensitive,not all of us like Cher,so obviously will not be interested in her press!!I think some viewers need to get a grip too!

I just find it funny that you haven't really said anything about it when it comes to the other acts, only when it concerns Matt.

These stories are all lies anyway, to take even a pinch of any of them of truth is an insult to anyone's intelligence.
