Anyone else hate it when people add another letter on to the end of a word for no real reason?

What is really the point in doing it? it doesn't save time and it makes you look like a ****ing idiot.

I don't get why people elongate consonants but I can sort of see with verbs.

Take Jords' example. "nightttttttt"

If you were to say it out loud, it would sound more like 'niiiiiiiiiiight', not 'nightttttttttt'.

It might only be me who notices stuff like this, I don't know...
