Question What Will The BB12 House Be Like?

I mean what Budget do you think it's on?

BB10 had the lowest budget I think, well it looked that way anyways.
Where as BB11 was a different story altogether.

Do you honestly think the house will be like BB6-BB9ish or will it be really basic and dull like BB1/BB10?

Or do you think it'll be almost identical to BB11 just different colours and furniture?

O hai thur.

Umm I'm not sure really. I'm hoping they'll stick with the open theme and go for a BB6/7 house (I know everyone says that ) but I would love a return to BB5's small, claustrophobic house and the whole evil BB in general.

Either way I think BB11's house raised my expectations drastically because that house was just amazing. I don't think we should expect too much out of C5's new house though tbh.

The BB5 house was so nice in a weird way LOL.

I'd be happy with a house like that or a BB6/BB7 House, I agree about BB11 like when we got the pictures and stuff I think everyone was literally gobsmacked by how outstanding it was.

But on TV it looked so ugly, I think it was all the glass windows though.

Yeah but don't forget, it was never Channel 4 who made the house so it won't be Channel 5 - it's going to be Endemol who decide what it looks like and build it and stuff, Channel 5 won't really get a say - so I guess it's up to Endemol which way it goes.

Yeah I loved the BB5 house.

And I know what you mean about BB11's house. It was lovely but I think it was a bit too 'busy' if you know what a mean? Like too much detail with all that stuff all over the glass and all the wallpaper and shizzle.

But like, don't C5 decide on the budget though?

No, Big Brother is not an original commission but an acquisition format, the broadcaster pays Endemol for the rights to air it (as with a sporting event), not for them to make it for them (as with a new drama) and Endemol assign a percentage of that amount, of a size of their own choosing (whatever is left after they use it to pay off their mahoosive debts) to pay for the production of the show, the rest they spend on what they wish (executive bonuses, other programming etc).

During BB's 9 to 11, Endemol were spending just 5 mill of the 60 mill C4 were paying them, on the actual show.

^C5 give Endemol the budget and Endemol do EVERYTHING.

I really want the house to be BB5-7 style. A weird and non almost symmetrical layout. BB8 onwards seemed to stick with a ****ty big hub which had the kitchen, seating area, diary room near the entrance, bedroom stemming off from somewhere etc...

The Star have said it will be very different, and the Express have suggested it will have a decadence (decaying / falling apart) feel/theme.

Think crumbling roman temple rather than burnt out bedsit. It will be an arty sort of decadence.

Far from it, decadence could be simply referring to falling apart or decay as in the decaying of morals. It could also refer to the Decadent period in literature, which sought inspiration from the over refinement of style and luxury, producing works that were morbid neurotic or macabre.

Knowing Dirty Desmond, it will be meant in the societal sense and be used to excuse a variety of nudity-centric tasks and encouraged sex games . assuming the themes on C5 are the choice of Northern And Shell it will almost certainly not be meant in the literary sense .

doesnt decadence mean like lavish and self indulgence so i thought it meant it would be like really well designed with really state of the art stuff. like treating the housemates.

No, decadence = the process of something decaying

I'm pretty sure decadence means luxurious.

I can imagine a sort of CBB7 vibe or BB9 bathroom sort of tone. The Daily Star says there'll be lots of fun and games so I keep thinking of those sort of Party Poker ads

No, it comes from the latin dēcadentia meaning falling away, as does the word decay (hence 'deca'), however someone who is said to be decadent is someone who is self-indulgent (i.e. enjoys their luxuries) as decadence is a term usually applied to a decline in personal and societal morals (which self-indulgence is viewed by many as).

From the context it was used in they appeared to be referring to moral decadence (i.e. that the house will be full of guilty pleasures) but it could mean the opposite since it's referring to the houses' interior design.

So do you think it'll be more like the luxurious, Party Poker vibe I'm thinking or the crumbling walls idea you suggested earlier?

Ooh! Another theme! Fun and Games theme - The floor and walls could be designed like chess, checker and Monopoly boards. The duvets can all have Twister boards printed on them One wall could look like a giant Tetris grid. Diary room could look like it's made out of a tonne of giant Lego bricks. HMs have Save and replace tasks like Hangman or Battleships but on a grander scale. BB should allow drinking games with packs of playing cards. HMs can have a Cluedo themed task after an eviction where they acquire clues and evidence to suggest so and so nominated this person. Really up the game playing side of things

Patrick I so agree! The BB11 house looked awful and messy on TV! The pictures were nice but I hated it on tv! Give me the BB9 house anyday!

Just something different is all I would ask for.

Give us something new with the house and series. Because after 11 years, the shows already worn out a lot of avenues. They need to do something amazing to breathe some life into this monster.

Which is why they shouldn't go down a 'Evil' route again.

People keep saying it should be cruel and evil.
That's been done to death.

BB5, BB9, CBB7 and towards the end of BB10 when Marcus and his gang started pissing them off.

Evil is boring.

So I agree in a sense, they need a new theme.
Or even a theme from the past, that worked well other than evil.

I was about to recommend a 'Summer' house but then again, BB12 won't be bloody on in Summer!
But hey if it's going to be all fun and games, then surely the house will look like BB8s?
Very Bright and Camp?
