Default Shameless USA (More4, UK pace, no spoilers)

Starting more4 tonight at 10. Won't be anywhere near as good as the real one. But I'll give the pilot a try

Oh look another show the Americans stole from us and feel the need to air it in the UK even though we have our own and more better version.

Americans don't force Channel 4 to show it, they did so of their own accord. Don't try to go off an another USA rant because everything you say is wrong, ignorant and ultimately moronic.

Oh do shut up you imbecile. Why do you ceaselessly go on these pointless rants when they have absoloutely no merit? You have not seen the U.S. version. Who are you to judge? Statistically we have probably nicked more from American television than they have from us. I'm sure people have told you that dozens of times before too but here you are helplessly going off on one yet again.

For the record I think it's fantastic. It's not as good as the first few UK seasons but it's much better than the current crap Paul Abbott is content with putting out over here. The storylines are the same but it's a much warmer, realistic, more drama orientated show with more of a traditional production style than Shameless UK's stripped down, fly on the wall comedy approach. It takes longer to get into but I would heartily reccomend it.

William H. Macy, Jeremy Allen White and Emmy Rossum all put in great performances and are incredibly likeable. And Liam is black.

Is it the same characters as the British one or completely new characters? I never got that with American versions.

5 years later.... Finally got around to starting it. I've just finished season 2 and I'm starting to prefer it to the UK version (although Season 1 is 99% the same).

Does anybody on here still watch it?

Yeah I'm still watching. They've just got better and better in quality every series.

Our version for the first 3 series > any series they've done so far, but after that their quality is just superb.

(Although it does help they got their main characters still. If Fiona and Lip and Kev and Veronica had left early like we did, it may be a different story)

I agree with this... I am always surprised when the new season starts and all the characters are still there

Can I just say...this show has the best opening titles/theme song of any show on TV today... I never get tired of hearing it... I feel like I need to add it to my play list tbh

I know but we understand them so they should bother to learn about our "very British" phrases and mannerisms etc.

I've already watched the first series, it's very good. The first few episodes are pretty much the same as ours but there's a fair few original ideas in there too. It's pretty much the first and second series of the UK version.

I enjoyed it a lot more then the current series of ours' although William H Macy makes a terrible Frank.

It changes things up after the first 2 or three episodes. i'm usually against remakes but this one's pretty good if you give it the chance.

Well they need to learn it. Most things we watch are American which have more Americanised things you wouldn't hear in a British programme.
