I Love Niamh’s Brick
|
Sensible answers please. I've been struggling with this country for a while now, don't get me wrong, I am glad I was brought up here, but I personally have lost any love for this country that I once had.
Other than the countryside and some great views I seem to have lost faith in everything else this country has to offer and find myself getting very irritated with the majority of the British population. So what makes the UK great for you?

- We are Amazing at most sports really good all rounders considering the population compared to other countries Cricket, Football, Rugby, Darts, Snooker, Athletics, Rowing, Sailing, Equestrian events, Motorsports, Boxing and Golf from the top of my head i can think of at least 1 person or national team that are world class in each of those areas
And that's all that really matters

I am sickened by your post.............. How could you have forgotten about a special mention for Runrig, Ewan McGregor, Billy Connolly, the best malts in the world, the outstanding scenery, the beautiful castles and Celtic Connections.... Actually, all kidding aside; all of the above plus your own reasons are the things I am proud of to be fair. |

What is it you've been struggling with? It must be tough living in such a culturally enriched, relatively well off country having to read the odd story about someone you never met perhaps not getting as much time in jail as they should have.
Britain is great. And I aint even British. |

Australia off the top of my head are rising. They actually had an economic growth during the recession.

One I find increasingly hard to answer. As much as I've always been loyal to my country - Scotland first, but part of the UK as a whole, I do feel we are becoming an embarrassment. |

Joking aside, I am thankful for where I live. We don't have drought, famine or war. We aren't bothered by earhquakes, tsunamis, tornados or monsoons, nor do we have huge poisonous snakes or spiders.
We do have our problems, but all in all Britain is a safe, pleasant place to stay. Shame the weathers **** but hey ho, we can't have everything.

Oi....don't go blaming me for your lack of prowess. If you ain't got it, you ain't got it. ![]() I agree in huge amounts: and back to all the Inventors -past and present - there is a lot we should (need?) to be reminded of - look past the downside of the UK and be proud of what we have achieved, and still do. |
