The X Factor - USA Season 3 of the US X Factor started Sept 11th 2012, and was shown on FOX in the US and ITV2 in the UK, and ran to December. The judges were Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Paulina Rubio. Discuss in this sub-forum.

Default XFUSA to air day after US broadcast on ITV2

The X Factor USA will receive a UK transmission the day after it airs in the US, ITV has confirmed.

Simon Cowell makes his judging comeback alongside Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Antonio 'LA' Reid. As with the UK competition, the American version offers singers over the age of 12 and groups the chance to compete for a $5m recording contract.

Hosted by Welsh presenter Steve Jones, The X Factor USA will kick off on ITV2 with a two-hour double bill on Thursday, September 22 and Friday, September 23.

It had previously been suggested that the UK broadcast could be delayed, in order to avoid having the series run alongside the UK edition, which ends its auditions process with a double-bill this weekend.

Cowell has confirmed that axed judge Cheryl Cole will feature in the opening episode of The X Factor USA. The Girls Aloud star has appeared briefly on the panel in some of the promotional material released.

The X Factor USA premieres in the US on September 21 at 8pm ET on Fox, and in the UK on September 22 at 8pm on ITV2.

'Collide' singer Leona Lewis has confirmed that she will perform on both versions of The X Factor.

I love how they're airing the silly Yank Version here - yet aren't airing the silly British version there?

Possibly because we're a threat, which is why they never aired our Shameless in US.

Silly Patrick.

UK shows ARE shown a lot in the US, the UK Shameless aired over there and Doctor Who & Torchwood have a big following and Secret Diary of a Callgirl was pretty much given a final series because of the US viewership I think. There's a lot more examples then that like Skins and Primeval but the UK does have a presence in US television. We've even got a BBC channel over there...

The fact that you make out that our X Factor poses some sort of a threat to the US is quite frankly hilarious, ridiculous and completely stupid. You hate so many things yet you don't know the first thing about any of them, you're ignorant about everything beyond the end of your nose.

Why would they show the Uk version here if American's can't vote in it? that would make no sense.

All US talent shows air midweek, they don't need to show it on a Saturday or Sunday to get big ratings.

in america We like to go out during the weekend
So that's why all the important shows are not on during the weekend mostly
American Idol and Big Brother USA both have eliminations on Thursdays instead of Fridays because that when people watch TV shows
