instead of the usual ghosts/zombies killing people in the woods its some kind of freaky cult the guy at the gas station is part of thats what i got from it anyway

It's MEANT to be ridiculous, it's a pastiche. It's a satire like Scream. Something that might be considered serious and scary at times but is mostly poking fun at horror conventions, look at the poster and synopsis, it's all tongue in cheek.

amazing

(there is another thread for this movie that has more posts but its just full of ridiculous so i didn't want to bump it)
