Default Ive got a feeling nothing much is changing for CBB

I dont think Channel 5 are doing the whole tradition of BB with changing the eye/diary chair for each series.

As we have seen the same eye is being used in the new adverts for CBB and ive gt a feeling that we will be seeing the same chair aswell.

Judging by the adverts they haven't changed the outdoor eviction set either, even the front door is still the same

Thats either because

a) Channel 5 are clueless
b) They know noone watched BB12 so it doesn't make a difference
c) Channel 5 are clueless

Or because it's one of, if not the best set they've ever had.

The old ones were themed around the series' graphics so they had to be changed, whereas the new one is primarily made up of screens so they can just change the visuals. I doubt they'd invest money in to a set that versatile just to use it for one year.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with them keeping itfor three or four years - bigger shows like The X Factor keep their sets for similar periods of time so what's wrong with Big Brother following suit?

Exactly. I like the exterior set up. I think it's the best they've had. Screens can display anything.

For the actual BB evictions, less is more. Didn't like how it looked like a nightclub, didn't like how the crowd went all the way round and were tiered. That was made more annoying with a smaller and more organised crowd and when they were in shot during the interview you got a few morons waving and cheering for their 2 seconds on TV. Also didnt like how the housemates walked above the crowd rather than through it and the screens either side of the door looked daft as well because they were about 10 feet away from the house itself (which you could still see in the background).

They put that much money into it that it just ended up looking really cheap and tacky and that came across in the overall production of eviction shows. They're overthinking what Big Brother actually is and thats why it went so spectacularly wrong. Besides, that set won't look half as good in the middle of summer when its broad daylight at 9pm.

Those are all fair criticisms but it doesn't mean the producers are clueless for choosing to keep the same set.

They might be clueless for axing the live feed, they might be clueless for all but eradicating the outside world rule, they might be clueless for fixing the nominations process. These are all fundamentals of the show's basic format which is still used the world over, and the producers should rightly be criticised for compromising them.

But Channel 5 have every right to put their own stamp on how the show is presented. The show isn't ruined just because - shock horror - they've decided to do something differently to Channel 4 by using an eye, Diary Room chair or set for more than one or two series.

All that said, I go back to my original point - these sorts of things would normally be changed for the summer series, not the Celebrity series. Lets wait and see what happens in May.

Eyes and Diary Room chairs are usually changed once a year ahead of the main summer series so there's nothing wrong with bosses keeping them the same for this CBB.

That said, I doubt we'll see annual changes to the logo - it doesn't look like the kind of graphic that can be adapted as easily as the Eatock eye.

I think the House is changing, according to Marcus Bentley.

The Advert was filmed in November. Things could have changed since then. The Exterior isn't that big of a deal to be honest.

I'm not sure I'll be watching much anymore unless it really hooks me.

I'm surprised people are saying the exterior set if the "best they've ever had". I think it's the worst. All the sets outside during the first 10 series were basic, a podium for Davina and the screen on the house. I didn't mind the elaborate set for BB11, it worked and they didn't do it too much.
But BB12 just took 150% over the top, the size of the crowd being exceptionally small made it seem like they did everything to detract from the fact that hardly anyone was there. The graphics they use on the screen make it seem more cheap, otherwise the screens covering the majority of the house would be quite good.

But, more than anything, I hate the entrance with the spinning top. What exactly is the point? It's elaborate just for the sake of being ridiculous.

But, I think C5 will push for endemol to give them CBB every January for 4-6 weeks and let the main series go after next year.
I think after the ratings success of CBB 2010 channel 5 wanted the show but endemol forced both shows to be bought as a package.

Y'see, I don't believe this. This is the eye we had:

This is the default eye:

And we don't actually know the "official" next eye, and we probably won't see it until launch night, but this is the eye from the clip:

They all seem different enough to me :/

You think trhey all seem different?

Its the same eye in different scenarios.

The main template/with graphics and then added onto a grave stone.

Its the same eye.
