BGT was absolute rubbish Only decent acts were the duo at the end and that choir, the rest of it was just like a bad parody show

God. Simon's ego now
But at least The Voice took it down in the 20 minute clash, all that matters. |

Hardly surprising really, BGT is the established show after all. Both shows were great though I thought, but with BGT just edging it.
Excellent ratings all round though, both the BBC and ITV should be happy. Very impressive start for The Voice. |

Aw crap. I was hoping the voice would get better ratings. But its the lesser of two evils really, I'd rather both of them, along with the X Factor, go the way of the Dodo soon. I'm so ****ing sick of all these crappy talent shows.

Britain's Got Talent was *always* going to beat The Voice - the chances of it getting higher ratings for its first ever episode were slim to nil. Let's not forget BGT only got five million viewers for its debut show.
Simon Cowell has no reason to celebrate though - The Voice absolutely thrashed BGT in the twenty minutes they clashed, and on average BGT was down around half a million viewers on its launch last year. Both sides can claim victories here, but it'll be interesting to see how ITV responds - they clash for twenty minutes again next week, and I imagine if The Voice puts in a similar performance they'll want to reduce that overlap in the future. BGT is just another X Factor. I don't want to see singers overload. Razy should of won last year and from what people have told me, close to the whole show was singers yesterday. Good thing I missed it.

It pisses me off though BGT, they claim it's all about variety and yet the final III were all singers. |

The Voice was so much better than BGT (which was very, very poor apart from the opera lad).

I never get how the ratings work. I assume, as The Voice started at the earlier time, that a contributing factor to it winning in the crossover ratings, was due to the fact that people were already watching it, and started recording BGT to watch when it had finished. Personally, I recorded The Voice and watched it after BGT had finished.
How many people watched one and recorded the other I wonder? I am sure it would be a fair few. Do viewing figures take into account people viewing programmes on lap tops, tablets, mobiles and games consoles? What about viewers who use on demand services such as BBCi player and ITV player? I was quite excited about both tbh, but was a bit disappointed with The Voice. BGT however, was as good as ever! I think having ant n Dec help keep it interesting too

The fact that The Voice won in the 20 minute crossover is no surprise. With the exception of myself, who recorded the last 20 minutes of The Voice and switched over to BGT, I expect most people didn't bother turning over a programme they were already an hour into.
ITV went wrong here, and they seriously need to re-evaluate how they're going to schedule BGT in future weeks, as I can see The Voice growing in popularity. |

Considering Reality TV shows always get better ratings as they are in there middle run of there life, and the fact that alot of people I know liked The Voice,I think it will be fine.
I will give it ago eventually.
