For real?? I genuinely got the impression he wanted nothing to do with the whole thing. I think he sussed out quite early on it was a toxic feud that left nobody looking good and just stayed the hell out of it. Not quite the same, sometimes I might see a hideous person or a great big fatty and me and the wife might have a sly chuckle to ourselves about it.
