I cannot recall seeing a Celebrity Big Brother/regular Big Brother housesmate in any series as drunk as the great Carol McGiffin was in tonight's August Bank Holiday Monday episode She was virtually "legless",and had to be helped to her bed by some housemates.And then helped to undress.

It was a right laugh.......but she just ought to have got a bit kaylied-merry and not got over the top -I've just got mixed feelings,that's all - Carol is still one of my favourites

It was hilarious but this does pose the question - why is it alright for Carol to get totally trashed on national TV but if it's Charlotte she's 'common tramp'? How does that work? So now not only is sexism in play but ageism too? Really?

Are you actually being serious? So Carol's allowed to get wasted on national TV (on a TV channel that's bigger than the one Charlotte stars on) through her own choice, but Charlotte is a 'rough slapper' if she does it a smaller TV channel when she's paid to do it? That logic makes no sense and it's so ageist that I cannot even begin to comprehend it.

No she isn't? She's a 'tramp' because she's sexually promiscuous? This kind of attitude really disgusts me because it's socially acceptable for guys to sleep around and they're sucha****inglad if they do but if a girl dares~ to do the same thing they're labelled a 'slut', 'slag', 'dirty tramp'...all kinds of bile. How does that work? It's sexist beyond belief.

The show she is on is all about a load of Geordie's getting trashed and having sex, it's not just her...it's the entire cast. They are paid to act that way, they are told to act that way, because that's the point of the show. I don't really understand why anyone would have an issue with a show like that personally (live and let live and all that...and I don't even watch it), but if you do then it's the producers that are to blame, not Charlotte or any of the other people that are a part of it.

My original point in this thread was that Charlotte has been labelled things like a 'common tramp' because she gets totally wasted on TV yet when Carol does it (on what is actually a mainstream TV channel compared to MTV which isn't) she's some kind of legend? In my opinion Carol's actions were hilarious and if Charlotte were to do the same I wouldn't think any different, my problem is not only are girls lambasted for this kind of behaviour already yet it's seemingly acceptable for men, but now it's 'trampy' if a twenty-something girl does it, but it's hilarious and oh so bloody brilliant if a fifty-something does it? So now even ageism is coming into play and it's a joke. It can't be one rule for one person and another for someone else.
