You often hear people boldly state this whenever someone mentions soaps. There seems to be quite a marmite opinion to them. I do watch soaps by the way so it's not mine I can never be bothered to challenge this types though, they're usually loud and opinionated on everything

I just find them sort of trashy and don't really get why people watch them but never try to judge someone personally

I guess Holby City sort of counts as a soap and I watch that, but the daily ones I can't

Snoberry is annoying. I would rather watch soaps than films, but don't judge those who like films (i'm very picky when it comes to films I actually watch).

Soaps aren't for me personally, the acting tends to make me cringe.

Never seen anyone call someone sad for watching soaps though.

I think that soap stars don't get enough credit sometimes, they work very long hours to produce great work for their viewers and should get more respect for it.

Film stars get every plaudit under the sun for their talent.

I love Eastenders and really miss Brookside,never watch Hollyoaks or Neighbours,I do watch Corrie and Emmerdale,people sometimes have a snobbery against programs,Big Brother being one that people don't seem to like admitting they watch due to being called 'sad' or something similar

I don't agree with the title, but they are over-dramatic, unrealistic and poorly-acted. Only decent one really is Coronation Street but even then I feel bored watching it.

I watch all the soaps emmerdale. corrie, eastenders, neighbours and my fave home & away. Only one I don't watch is hollyoaks. I used to love brookside when barry grant was in it. I also adore bb and most reality tv.
Yesterday I was watching some dogs racing and one of the racing names was eric northman. someone said to me did I know what it was off, I didn't have a clue, she said true blood. I still didn't have a clue. She said what you don't watch that but u watch that rubbish bb and the soaps???? How anyone can say bb is rubbish I do not know, as something different happens on a daily basis, u don't know what is going to happen. She then asked if I liked the hobbit??? I haven't seen it and don't intend on seeing it. She calls me for liking REALITY yet she watches FANTASY....

I don't agree with this statement at all as most people watch tv and it doesn't mean you have no life if you do so . I'm just not really into soaps, they bore me and I can't be bothered keeping up with them. haven't watched any for years.
