I don't want a return to strict Capello era, but wish players would stop taking so many selfies, Jagielka's selfie pitchside at Ecuador game was pathetic.
It's not a holiday camp with a bit of football thrown, they are there to do a job. They are having too much fun. Too much media. I was in Germany 2006 and as hosts the players had surprisingly little media or fan interraction. I want players to relax, but whilst the English players are updating their Instagram account, Big Phil Scolari has given each Brazilian player a copy of The Art of War by Un Tzu. People in every nation and every type of job take 'selfies', they are a 10 second thing and don't distract people from what they're doing.. every nation going to the world cup has players taking photos of themselves with other teammates. it is a sign that a player is relaxed too.. and it's called interacting with fans. Using Brazilians as an example we should take after.. they are the worst when it comes to selfies. Only English fans would pick up on something like this..
