I'm not one to get PC about stuff, but this was pretty vivid.
Daniella's "nobody feels safe here! She needs to get out. I don't feel safe." Tiff didn't get physical or anything. There have literally been no signs of that happening. She might as well have said, "that black girl is aggressive!" What a leathery old hag she is. ![]() |

It reminded me of when that vile specimen Natalie Cassidy suddenly declared that she didn't feel safe in her bed with Andrew Stone around. |

![]() Tiffany was being aggressive, it's absurd that people who didn't like that are now suddenly being branded racist. |

She wasn't that aggressive to harm anyone though? not saying it's racism but stereotyping could come into it. It was obvious she wasn't going to harm anyone but they made out she was and is dangerous to be around.

Well through everything that happened on tonight's highlights I must say I never picked up on any racism at all.
C'mon now. |

It might not have resonated as loudly for non-U.S. viewers, due to a different cultural climate within North America.
Specifically, Tiff being African-American; there comes with that hyphenated combo several stereotypes that aren't as prevalent with regards to black English people. For instance, the unspoken fear that seemed to express anxieties regarding the possibility of Tiff turning "ghetto" and beating the sh*t out of someone. Tiff doesn't take sh*t, but she showed no sign of getting physical. I mean, think about it. An African-American girl from Utica is yelling, and everyone is suddenly expressing concerns for physical safety? I'm not saying that they sat around and spouted off the "n-word," or that they even referred to her as "ghetto," or anything like that. Rather, I'm pointing out the context of what they said and how the words were pretty racially packed. Last edited by Edna Mode; 13-01-2016 at 02:09 AM. |

I think it's a long stretch to say the words were racially packed, and in a way those crying racism over the unfortunate events on last nights show are the ones who are singling out Tiffany's colour, no one else is or seemed to be on the show. To me it came across as people feeling 'this bitch is crazy' which had nothing to do with her skin and more to do with her behaviour. Race does not excuse bad behaviour and she was pretty poor in how she handled things after the misunderstanding. This show isn't in North America and culturally the UK is different. I had never heard of the chicken thing for instance and its quite possible neither has the person who said she wanted a plate of chicken in the house, which was what has been said they were having for dinner.

Or maybe she has seen Flavor of Love or Heard stories about the show from the other housemates and saw that side of Tiffany come out...

yea i didnt think it was racist. she was acting like a nut but it was an overreaction. many were doing that in last nights ep.
probably has or at least heard. i thought we seen Tiffany telling a story about one or her crazy stories on one of those shows an ep or two ago. might have been a real quick clip or one of the live feeds. could be wrong though.

We are a week in and i don't even know who danielle is. The only women's names i know is gemma cause she's fat and angie cause she's old. i honestly have no idea who the other women in the house are.

I saw no racism. In fact I think her assessment was pretty accurate Tiff was really irrational their was no need to go off at Angie like she did.

Yeah I didn't particularly think it was racist? I could see how it'd be interpreted that way but I also saw people saying that John was racist for saying that she'd only come out for a plate of chicken - which I'm pretty sure is what they were cooking at the time

People think it's racist because, well stereotypically black people eat chicken, and who just eats chicken for dinner? He could've said chicken pasta, chicken tonight, chicken soup, chicken noodles... But he just said chicken. If she was Indian and he said she only wants them for their vindaloos or poppadoms then people would blow up because of the racist connotations.
