…I have a friend who’s an excellent baker and cake maker…she once made some crumpets many years ago and they were delicious……but the ones in the shops, no…they’re like the pre sliced white bread of the bread world in comparison to home baked bread…chewy as Cherie said and rubbery and tasteless…

I love them....they lose their chewiness if you toast them well.

I don't really eat bread products any more but I actually had some crumpets this week whilst I was wfh due to covid....comfort food

I don't really use anything. I just stopped having toast and sandwiches etc. I miss it though

Argh I don't have toast any more I have Greek yoghurt with berries and nuts or banana but don't think I could give up sandwiches entirely

I've completely cut out white bread, rice and pasta, and have brown/wholemeal instead. I never pasta really anyway, have brown rice once or twice a week, but i do have brown bread pretty much every day
