…I have a friend who’s an excellent baker and cake maker…she once made some crumpets many years ago and they were delicious……but the ones in the shops, no…they’re like the pre sliced white bread of the bread world in comparison to home baked bread…chewy as Cherie said and rubbery and tasteless…
