hate crime inquiry over a
year-old social media post.

Columnist Allison Pearson says
two officers came to her home
on Sunday to tell her about
the investigation,
but were unable to say which post
it concerned or who had
made the complaint.

The paper says that this time
last year Pearson was posting
a lot about the 7 October attacks on
Israel and the subsequent
pro-Palestinian protests in London.

and was opened under laws
prohibiting material "likely or

i don't think there is any time limitation regarding hate speech, so it wouldn't matter if it were 1 year or 10 years. However, you can only be tried based on the laws that existed at the time of the supposed offence and if, as is likely, there are thousands of examples where people wrote similar but were not prosecuted, there will be trouble

I have to point once again to the pro Palestine marches and ponder why hate speech doesn't appear to apply to those marchers carrying hateful signs and chanting hateful things.

I don't agree with investigating non-crimes, they're non-crimes for a reason.

She was outspoken against gender self ID. She's been outspoken against Islamic terrorism in the UK and against anti-Semitic attacks and unrestrained pro-Palestine marches calling for Jihad and the annihilation of Jews. I'm pretty she is Jewish, which is insulting to some in itself.
