![]() Rupert Lowe MP @rupertLowe10 It's NOT normal to see armed police at Christmas markets/events, it's NOT normal to have security guards at dance classes, it's NOT normal for pockets of unknown foreign young males to appear all over the country. NONE of this is normal. We must NOT get used to it. ![]() |

Rupert also tweets:
This is astonishing. I questioned the Home Office about their official procedure to inform local residents of illegal migrants being housed in hotels near them. It is official Home Office policy NOT to tell residents. "we do not disclose information about specific hotels which may or may not be utilised by the Home Office to the general public." It's simply outrageous. British taxpayers being kept in the dark about hundreds of unchecked foreign young males being housed near their homes. I am disgusted, genuinely disgusted. https://x.com/RupertLowe10/status/1863621074174296496 |

But, no point our police saying be vigilant without saying who it is we are to look out for and why they would rather protect the suspects rather than warn the victims properly why is that? Last edited by Crimson Dynamo; 08-12-2024 at 07:15 AM. |

Apart from a deterrent armed police in somewhere like a Christmas Market are as useful as a chocolate tea pot. They would never be able to discharge weapons with that many people around....it would always result in civilian casualties.

Be vigilant means if someone is driving a speeding vehicle at a crowd get out of the way. If someone is wielding a knife, run away. If you are not aware of your surroundings it's more difficult to avoid.
The message of being vigilant has been around for at least 30 years, so contrary to the thread title, it is normal, to suggest otherwise is plain wrong. Also, police were on patrol when the IRA were at their height, they were preaching vigilance then and that was 60 years ago |

even in scotland in the 70's and that was 50 years ago. I remember getting evacuated from Marks and Spencers because of a bomb threat. There were lots of threats across europe. Think of the Munich olympics in 1972

If indeed the "far-right" are the problem, why do Christmas markets need diversity barriers but say mosques don't?

A 37-year-old Iraqi asylum seeker has been arrested in Augsburg, Germany,
for allegedly planning a terrorist attack on the city’s popular Christmas market, local police confirmed. Authorities acted after discovering evidence that the suspect, named as Ali Al-G, had scouted the market and engaged with Islamic State (IS) operatives online. The arrest has highlighted ongoing security concerns surrounding Christmas markets across Germany, which have been targets for Islamist terrorism in recent years. Die Welt reports that Ali Al-G was detained on Wednesday evening at an asylum seekers’ residence in Augsburg. Police cited a warrant issued by the Augsburg District Court to secure his deportation under Section 58a of Germany’s Residence Act, a rarely invoked measure for individuals deemed an imminent security threat. According to law enforcement, Al-G had taken photographs of Augsburg’s Christkindlesmarkt and discussed using a vehicle to ram into the crowd, a method reminiscent of previous IS-inspired attacks in Europe. https://europeanconservative.com/art...istmas-market/ |

"Tis the season" to be... Vigilant? Paranoid? Terrified, constantly on guard for fear of a truck ramming you and your family?
Is this the new normal now? |
