has yet to do a foxtrot, i can see him being somewhat good at that, also trying more his best at not messing up (like he did in the waltz)

i think Chris will have viennese waltz, charleston (i mean a comedian gotta do a fun dance like charleston tbh, and i can see him being good at that, based on this weeks quickstep, where he also had a few nice quirky moments )
I'm not being nasty, I'm being honest with my opinion of his dancing ability.

Chris Parker got to the final, and he was worse

Bobby Bones won DWTS, and there was not much dancing ability in him either, just making something up

Joey Graziadei won DWTS this year, another bachelor, over also many better dancers

so this is a dance show, but not necessarily a too serious dance competition, i guess strictly is more light entertainment, whereas german version Lets Dance is more of a dance competition, but tbh there are lesser ringers in the german version, so maybe that explains why better dancers win there, unlike in strictly recently if u are too good, u get called a ringer, and those are not as popular as those who are novices, those who have never danced or performed

Unless it's a goodlooking guy of course.

Interesting to see Tasha in the bottom two and then get voted through by the judges. It happens every year with the contestants who have previous dance training, They get through until the public can vote them off. Sarah is my favourite, but it's good to see Pete, a complete novice and a bit of a bloke, try his best and people appreciate that. JB's a good dancer bit he leaves me a bit cold for some reason. I was sad to see Montel go.

There's always inconsistencies & double standards for sure, Joe was praised in his year despite having some dance experience and he ended up winning I think?. Whilst Alexandra burke & Debbie Mcgee got grief over their previous dance background.

But as I keep saying year after year ....if people want a
dance competition with total dance virgin beginners with
zero experience, then strictly would just be full of
politicians , newsreaders & Judy Murray's , and I'm pretty sure nobody wants to see that ...as it would be boring and cringe having a line up of awful dancers. Not everyone has a fun interesting journey...they just never improve lol .

I don't know what people expect, obviously if someone is from a entertainment/ theatrical or music background...then chances are they will have some advantage.
They might aswell say Chris is at a huge disadvantage,as all the other contestants/ celebrities can see .

I agree with you personally.

Being fair to Tasha and JB, without them this series would have a dreadful standard of dancing this series, especially for a top 5 round.

I'm not personally a stickler for the technically best dancer having to win the series, but I am amazed at how little some of the general public actually care about good dancing on a dancing contest.

Because in Tasha's case in particular, I'm willing to bet that she hasn't left the bottom two of the public vote for a long time now, which is nuts when you look at how some people have danced this series.

JB is my favourite now. I really think him and Lauren have something special dancing together. Imagine how brilliant they would have been if they had been paired up since day one!
I love Amy, but I think she came back too soon. She's probably ok to do the group numbers, but having q celebrity is an added strain. She needs to rest and regain her strength.

Strictly has always been a popularity contest, sometimes it's about dancing. But most the time it's who the public likes IE their looks, personality or if they find them funny to watch .

I think viewers get bored of a celebrity who has been consistently good throughout, which is unfair on the hard work that celebrity has put in. I'm guessing Tasha isn't having a big enough ' journey ' ( yep the cliche word lol ) for people.

But then Montell had very little dance experience ,but was actually a quick learner and did some great performances...yet still got booted out . But I guess she didn't get much support, for whatever reason which is ashame.

But if it was based purely on dance talent then Tasha ,Sarah & JB should all be in the final . As all 3 have been amazing.

You make a lot of fair points tbf.

I do believe that Chris will win though purely because he is blind, I know that his fans will deny that it's the main reason why they're voting for him, but I honestly just don't believe them.

And I am convinced that if everything about Chris's journey was the same, but he wasn't blind I believe that he would be incredibly lucky to finish in the top 8.

I am supporting Chris and yes he's not the best dancer, and i think the public as well don't always care who is the best dancer, it's how far they have come. What Chris is doing is amazing for someone who is blind, i am in awe of him and yes because of him being blind and being able to dance i will keep on voting for him and would love him to win.

Fair enough I suppose.

I just personally think that it just makes it worthless even having a disabled contestant on the Show if they're going to receive votes just because they're disabled.

That's just my view on it.

Good luck to them all should be a good semi final looking forward to it, and with IAC cyclone calls for wine and nibbles.

Part of the reason I vote for Chris is that he is blind yes - but he's also a good dancer. Lets say that all the other celebs had to learn their dances with blindfolds on, with little if any point of reference to what the dance actually looks like. If there was a level playing field like that, that would be the only real way to know who is the "best" dancer. In competitive sports like ice dance and gymnastics, the score is partly based on difficulty level, the more difficult a move, the more marks awarded ( to prevent people getting higher marks for doing perfect but "easy" routines). If you look at it like that, Chris's difficulty rating is way above everyone else. He's coming from such a place of disadvantage that he deserves to be overmarked a bit. And some of his routines are really great anyway. The other reasons I vote for him is because of his "journey" and because I like him. He's funny and entertaining and I like watching him on and off the dance floor.

IF I have any comments this week, which I doubt as Immnot impressed now with most left.
Except Sarah.

I kind of hope to spite the judges, Pete gets through to the final but I'm sure they'll make that near unlikely.

Nicky has made most of the series running threads, so I'll post in this one unless they get merged.
IF I post because as I said I'm not fussed who wins now, I'll certainly not be voting for any of them.

Right whatever. My thread is more up to date, it's got the correct time in the title and it's specially for the semi final. I'm not meaning to be snotty but I hope people will post in mine rather than this.

But that's not how the show works, because if that were the case then Tasha would be getting 40's every week because she can't hear the Music, and nobody deserves to be overmarked imo.

I agree with you that we should take Chris (and I'll add Tasha to this) disability into account to an extent, but I would argue that since Paul was eliminated that Chris has been one of the three worst dancers remaining in the competition alongside Pete and at the time Wynne.

And that is me being fair with Chris on who I think that he either deserved to beat, or at least have a debate about beating imo.

I think it’s a given Chris is going to win even though he’s not the best, which is a shame.

I think Tasha will hit bottom two again, this time with Pete. The judges won’t get rid of Tasha over Pete so he’ll go.

Chris obviously has been at a disadvantage and has done incredibly well to get where he is and Dianne is an amazing teacher to be able to get him to feel out the moves when he hasn't ever seen a Paso Doble for example. He is not the best dancer and as it's a dancing competition should not win but no-one should minimise the amount of effort it has taken them to get him where he is.

JB should possibly win and he and Lauren are amazing. As awful as it is, Amy getting injured was the best thing for him. He would have been out by now I think if he were still dancing with her.

Sarah for the win for me....
