Wow Marc get watching i love 2001 A Space Odyssey , Clockwork Orange is also a must see.
Dr Strangelove is another good one.
I didn't care for The Shining as i read the book and the film was a big disappointment.

I’ve seen The Shining so many times over the years and it still manages to get under my skin and give me the creeps. Something about the isolation and those long, empty corridors in the hotel. *shudders*

i think the soundtrack actually made the film what it is. It created most of the films tension
