Surely the point is that she hasn't flounced the rules. She is leaving isn't she? Has anyone heard that she is not and if not I assume she is staying legally somehow. As to the lying thing. Yes she lied but I seriuosly think a high proportion of that was as part of the game. I don't believe she would lie that much in the real world.

Well she is leaving because she was here on a visa for working as a nurse and she gave that up a few months ago and thus flounced the rules and her purpose for living here.

Exactly, she has to go cos the law says so. She is not having any special concesions [spelt?? ] as people here seem to imply [or maybe I'm just mis-reading]. I personally bet she does get offered a new job and stays but if not then she is gone as far as I can see.

I don't think she deserves to be called an 'illegal immigrant'. She was here on a visa which has now expired. I think there is a difference - she didn't enter the country illegally. Also, I was under the impression that the authorities had put a halt to deportations to Zimbabwe. No?

James has a good point though - she did not enter the country as an illegal immigrant, although having broken the rules of her visa, she could be perceived as now being here illegally. But I also thought that deportations to Zimbabwe had been stopped, so I wonder what will happen if that is the case?
