Mind you they really should of used a BB7 Housemate instead of Channelle, the warning string she's holding matches the BB7 graphics so well.

Wilbur smiths egyptian series of books especially the first one river god that is my all time favourite read.
they are:

1.River God
2.The Seventh Scroll
3.Warlock
4.The Quest

Haven't read enough of those kind of novels. I would recommend Thomas Harris to you though, but I'd say you've read his Roman novels already?

No i havent ive only heard of him for the hannibal lecters but i shall keep my eye out for them.

No, I always get them mixed up! Robert Harris. He writes about Cicero in Rome. Great read.
