cannot upload gifs as avatar or signature
they just upload as still pics

the gif size you trying to upload is prob too big. try one that is a smaller size.

GIFs in sigs can't be over 1mb which might explain the problem, although I'm not really an expert with stuff like this.. the guidelines are here

Also we have been having problems with people using massive GIFS, therefore: Animated GIFS - nothing over 1mb. They make pages very slow loading for those of us who are not blessed with fibreoptic broadband
