exactly.....people from all races, cultures and all walks of life say far more radical things than that regularly.....Ive watched whole tv studious full of black people say they don't date white people. it didn't bother me, its an individuals choice. Muhammad ali used to say its natural for people to stick to marrying people within their culture, religion, ethnicity. no one said it was racist, it was just his opinion. at worst what jemima said was presumptuous. all gina had to do was say actually youre wrong to assume that about me...instead of attention seeking and playing the race card right from the bottom of the deck....what a snake

Seems BB can't do right for doing wrong, they are still reeling from the 'Jade' incident I think ,and are now overly sensitive.

they've gone from one extreme to another. jade gate was bullying plain and simple. she and her cackling witches used ethnicity as a tool to bully. though we didn't get to see all the footage so who really knows. this wasn't anything like that. we would learn far more about people on this show, if in such situations we let them at least try and work it out for themselves rather than BB coming down heavy. any fool can see this isn't racism.

![]() I haven't the slightest belief that most feigning outrage at Jemima's warning disliked Gina from the off. ![]() The reverse could have gone on thus:- I generally go for lighter guys not white, North African or light African American. I like lighter guys but not white. .......... You PROBABLY wouldn't go for a black guy All said to the only white girl in a black house who Gina would have been guilty of targeting for no other reason than the loudest girl in the house had already picked her out.

You remove all the connotation and the intonational from the text, added to that you remove the fact it was simply a convenient platform from which to influence the house.

![]() I can just flip the conversation. I just did. You grasped that I see. The removal of connotation and intonation is your interpretation of the text ... you failed to understand or claim. What Gina's ambition in the house is to silently listen to someone who doesn't like her speak of her and her approaches to race negatively? Cos the silence earns brownie points pun intended. ![]()

I agree with the complaints. Imagine getting a warning for that!

This is a step forward imo.
People complaining about false accusations of racism and asking BB to apologise for being over the top/pc/. |

I do disagree with the warning, she didn't deserve it.
Although, Big Brother is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't. People would have complained if she didn't get a warning. It makes me laugh really that people are so ruddy quick to complain to ofcom, it's sad. |

There was no dialogue between the two, the conversation was between Jemima and Micheal regarding physical attraction and was in no way a racial slur. Gina manipulated the initial conversation which changed the focus.

![]() ![]() I disagree with your interpretation that Jemima's comments were directed at Michael. Disingenuous wouldn't even begin to describe it. But I see where you're going with it. ![]() Jemima's comments following the incident support the facts. She was talking to Gina. However if as you insist she wasn't it makes her comments even more snide! ![]()

My whole point was I don't believe your context is or could be valid, Jemima was having a conversation with Micheal and Gina interjected. After being falsely accused Jemima was on the defensive and rather flustered therefore her wording was misconstrued in my opinion, you may disagree but that is how I viewed the incident.

The old sea hag Jemima made an assumption about Gina, based on Gina's skin colour. It was ignorant, it was foolish but I just can't see it as racism.
I live in an East Asian country, and people make assumptions about me based on my skin colour all the time. They assume that I can't use chopsticks, they assume that I can't eat spicy food and they assume that I can't speak their language. As it happens, I can do all of those things and I take delight in showing them. Yet I never feel that I'm a victim of racism. If they were hunting me down, spitting on me, attacking me and denying me basic services then I would cry racism. But simple, albeit ignorant, assumptions are not racism in my book. |

But you have the right to interpret their behaviour in any way you like. However if you were a child or adovacating for one receiving this behaviour your delight at integration might be bitter sweet.

Interesting theory. So what exactly should be done about people making such assumptions? If it is racism then obviously it is bad and it must be changed, perhaps even severely punished. How can we deal with, and ultimately end, such behaviour?

. Didn't you hear they passed it into law - only white people can be racist. Everybody else is INCAPABLE of being racist. You can't disagree with the law, you know, otherwise you're politically incorrect and maybe even a r****t yourself! And we wouldn't want to be THAT, would we?!? *Goes off to watch some classic Benny Hill as Benny squints his eyes and berates the interviewer, calling him a "sirry iriot" and I laugh my feckin arse off!!!* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy88Sxxce_4 |
