  My, what an absolutely stellar episode of modern Survivor that was In recent years I've never had the slightest hope that a regular episode would be edited so well, let alone one which features three tribes, two challenges, an entire mf'ing evacuation and an epic boot to, er, boot, so I was really impressed with how it all came together. Obviously losing Natalie Cole aka Natalie Napalm aka Natalie Can I Have Your Jacket Natalie is a tragedy the likes of which Shakespeare would sheddeth a tear at, but her OTTN legend will live on forever (and where there's a chance of Heroes vs. Villains II ever happening, I'll hold out hope that The Natalie Cole Experience has another few chapters to come yet) I was most impressed, however, by how many fun, personal character moments they managed to fit into one of the most tightly-compressed 42 minutes I've seen in a while: from the establishing of the Brochachos to "get my black ass outta here!" to the I'm-sure-now-already-iconic Jabeni jacket saga to Jeff: "Survivors ready!" Angelina (I think?):  this episode was a delight to watch and it's very rare for me to say that about post-Kaoh Rong (post-SJDS?) Survivor. Like Troy, I'm still optimistic about the future of this season because of how strong the cast is - and really I should be crediting them with the sheer amount of fun character moments this episode before the editors - and I'm not even concerned about Former Fatty Dan v.2.0 having two idols (because the edit is treating him like the adorable joke he is ) or the existence of Nick (because of... erm... reasons). Anyway, I've yet to check edgic or the confessional count for this episode, but my gut instinct tells me that everyone got a confessional except Carl (yes, even Alison, who has now had just enough screentime for me to be more than 75% sure that she isn't Janet from The Good Place appearing in some bizarre cross-promotional exercise), which, again, what have you done with the real Survivor, Probst? Hmm? Hmmm?

Also the fact that the Jeremy/Natalie feud is continuing in the post-game interviews (Natalie blaming her failure in the game on Jeremy causing her severe back pain by trying to cripple her during the first IC
) and there are now several extra layers to the Angelina/John/Jeremy story and not to mention all the Instagram drama (last time I checked it was Dan vs. Jeremy, which... lol sure why not) is just the icing on top of the egg for me

Hmm why are a lot of people overrating this season?
That last episode in particular was pretty boring? It's not that special so far BUT it's definitely not bad either tbf, it's still had its episodes/moments, and I'm veeeery interested to see how the merge goes.I'm right in the middle on this season right now but I actually think I preferred each of the last two seasons atm lol..
