Even though both are pretty woeful, the 2004 version of The Grudge was slightly better than the original since it presented the story in a slightly more linear fashion when the original did everything out of order to mask the fact that there was no real story there.

You go into a house, you get cursed, you die. It's annoying that, in a lot of ways, The Grudge has a great concept but it's too thin of a concept and they never expanded on it. The Ring/Ringu works better because there's more thought that goes into the curse and you can actually fight against it which inherently makes it more interesting than The Grudge.

I don't think anyone was particularly great in it. I just respected that they didn't overcomplicate the presentation of the story to mask that there wasn't much of one.

Rob Zombie's Halloween - I liked Rob's House of 1000 Corpses but phew his halloween remake sucks so much, Micahel is creepiest not knowing why he's killing, so to add a backstory for him is unnecessary and makes him far less likeable to me, being from a trashy home isnt an excuse to kill animals and eventually school mates and Sheri Moon is a terrible actress, I also hated how they changed Loomis into a money hungry faux dr and honestly danielle Harris is a far better actress than lead Scout Taylor Compton. Halloween ll remake was a little better but both are trash compared to the original movies
Tbh the original Halloween is pretty overrated imo, it's more of a Thriller than a Horror Film imo.

Goes and hides.

I disagree, I think it has thriller elements sure but the deaths are pretty brutal for it's time, I remember watching it when I was about 14 and finding it terrifying, more so than a horror like Freddy with way more gore just because Halloween is mostly about the stalking rather than the deaths and the music is literally brilliant

I'm just watching the remake of Death Feast right now with the host of Love Island Oz, Sophie Monk. Not a huge fan of the original but thought the idea was pretty inventive.

The remade is very slow and a bit torture porn for my taste. Like all the victims look like they auditioned for babe station and got this instead and all the characters are so dumb its grim

I liked the Music, and the deaths that happened were well done imo.

But I just never felt like the Film ever picked up pace for me, and I do personally believe that Slashers need more gore than other types of Horror imo.

There were other issues for me as well, but I'll just leave it at the biggest things for me.
