Turns out Dominic lied (a strange concept I know) the house he drove to Durham to isolate in, doesn’t belong to his parents at all, the name on the deeds is... wait for it.... it’s good I swear... Maybe they rent it from him? I can't stand the man, but if they live there it'll be referred to as "their" house, like private or housing association renters say it's their house.

They're landed elite Oliver - the claim was that it was their "spare cottage", not that it was their home. They're the sort of folks who would feasibly have a random "spare" house. They're the sort of people who don't have a garden, they have "grounds". I don't think they're renting anything from anyone. They may well not know what the word means .

Personally I think the idea that he travelled 200+ miles and then stayed a stone's throw from his parents without seeing them in person is almost as far fetched as the driving to see if it was OK to drive story.

I'm sure they slept at his cottage and that's where they stay when they visit his parents. And also, they visited his parents.

I think until you have a disabled child and you and your partner contract a deadly disease you can't make that call. What you can do is show some respect to those who do/have?

I have a disabled child (with significant/acute learning disabilities, when Cumming's son may well have none, it's unverified) and we did a 14 day isolation in March because my wife may well have had it (we don't know, they didn't do tests back then).

The closest family we have who can look after our disabled child is over 200 miles away in the North of England.

We didn't consider jumping in the car and driving there for even a second.

No no you forget - you have to have responsibilities for a disabled dependent AND be the puppetmaster of a sad, scruffy, stumbling Prime Minister. THEN you can consider travelling around for childcare if you get ill.

It makes perfect sense I don't know why people are struggling with the concept.
