Biden's odds now are about where they were this time last week. The massive shift has come this morning from him being favourite, to then Trump being favourite, to then Biden being pretty much back where he started.

Things are looking a bit better at the moment, so I think Biden is going to squeak it. Whatever happens, the most dispiriting part is that more people have voted for Trump after watching him for 4 years, than in 2016.

For me, for the mostpart, it just proves that reds vote red and blues vote blue and it doesn't really matter who they stick in the suit.

...I recall watching some documentaries for the last election and it was shown how ‘generations/families etc had always voted for...’...but they were voting differently that time and how they’d never voted in their lives before..and it was because of the person wearing the suit as it were...

There are quite a lot of signs that this may not be strictly true although it is a good rule of thumb. Take Florida; the leftist $15/hr minimum wage won by 23 points there last night, so I think dems playing it consistently moderate/establishment rather than bold allows reds to not have to think about it.

All of the left/left of centre policies are the most consistently well polled (apart from stuff like gun laws), but the party mechanisms never really allow a candidate to run on them.

i think we in the UK have a tendency to think we are very similar to Americans, and the truth is we are similar to a %.

The problem that america has is that the "less progressive" section of America has a louder voice than it should have in the electoral college and that isnt going to change any time soon
