Alf, Biden won Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona - Called early by Fox news too - and West Virginia. The only swing state Trump won was Florida and that traditionally goes Republican anyway. Where are getting this stuff from?

He didn't win any of them on election day. People went to bed with Trump winning them all, and woke up the next morning to find out he was losing them all.

I don't know. Twitter, importantly, is TRUMP'S tool of choice and that's what has made it play an integral role. Yes the news channels and other news sources have spread his chaotic seed around but he sows them with tweets. The radio silence since his account was suspended is really illuminating.

Also on a secondary level - the nonsensical pro-Trump bot activity on Twitter during election day and the following day was unprecedented, I followed a lot of it first hand and I've never seen anything like it. Genuinely chilling glimpse at bona-fide misinformation warfare.

The result that was meant to be advisory and practically ended 50-50 was always gonna cause controversy.

The guy that loses by a landslide inciting violence and trying to destroy democracy is far worse than remainers moaning about a neck and neck Referendum.

Post that stuff in the EU referendum thread and I'll answer them for you.

Whatever your answer is, I can just say that you're in denial, and I think I win with that argument. I think that's how it works.

States have looked like they were going one way and then flipped towards the end, yes. As recently as Gore/Bush.

The left is so radical and powerful that US has a centre right dem president, and tories have an 80 seat majority with a right wing labour leader talking more about being tough on crime than ending poverty. I'd love to see nothing more than an energised actual radical left fighting for justice but it doesn't exist.

Trump didn't win by much in 2016 against what the right keeps calling a historically bad candidate with EMAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You keep repeating "orange man bad," so you know as well as anyone what the majority thinks of him, and that resulted in election defeat.
Twitter is the platform that Trump personally uses, and has his unfiltered views - unlike when a politician puts out a press release and a spokesperson will edit it.

As I recall in 2016, it was close then in about a three hour period Trump not only pulled ahead but won out right. IT happens all the time

He's on all platforms, mostly fox news and twitter was the one platform the crazies don't actually like, because they get banned. I just think blaming twitter is an easy way out. I don't doubt it played a role, but only in conjunction with, and not exclusive of, the other platforms.

Do I think if twitter had never existed and all other media/social media did, what happened would have still happened? Yeah, absolutely.

Ok if you say so but I doubt it.

Even the Eu referendum, Farage made what sounded a lot like a concession speech late in the day then changed his tune in the morning when we found out the result. This idea that because one candidate was ahead but didnt win means it was rigged is as flimsy as it gets.

He increased his vote count in every state (with the higher turnout), not just the ones that weren't questioned.

twitter as a medium is much more immediate and focussed than phone in ramblings on a news channel. People have a chance to read it over and over. Twitter is a much more effective platform for radicalisation than tv will ever be

Social media is the people getting a voice and anything can happen. Mainstream media is a controlled narrative. Controlled by privliged people who want to keep their privlige in tact.

It really isn't. It's one of the worst platforms for any discussion because of it's very nature. FB is basically a right wing militia site, so it just shows a stunning lack of understanding.
