Might as well just kill him now.

If traffic wardens are out ticketing the common working man during all this lockdown for some cash, then I'm ****ed if I'm paying for this scumbag to be fed and watered for the remainder of his sorry assed life.

With people like this, I really think life, should mean life. I do not believe in 'rehabilitation' for people like this, at all. And I feel even giving the 'chance' puts children at huge risk. Rather potentially lock up a dangerous pervert who MIGHT have changed, for ever..than risk more kids being hurt, IMO.

(Oddly, that apparently is a right wing view these days?!)

Chemically? No. Surgically. While he's still awake.

I don't think someone like that should ever be released. It's horrific even reading the vague details, nevermind stuff about how he coerced his victims to abuse others. It's just...beyond words.

I super agree with this, offences to this degree really do call for a full life sentence.

He got his victims to film themselves abusing siblings. A totally sick excuse of a human being.

I agree, why is one perverts rehabilitation worth risking innocent children being hurt? It just isn't worth it

...I won’t read any of the details of the case but touching on what Vicky said...yeah, it should be life imprisonment and meaning life imprisonment, this abhorrent person has ‘taken’ the lives of those children and their families...but I also feel that all of most sentences should be what’s given and not shortened to something entirely different...there may be exceptional circumstances for some but on the whole and as a general...10yrs should mean 10 years etc and not 3/4 yrs or however long...

Well, yes, that is how prison works, Parm. People lose their freedoms and their way of life for an amount of time, or for the rest of their lives, and they are kept watered and fed because we are supposed to be better than the people we judge.

You just have to look to America to know that it costs less to keep someone alive in prison for 60 years than it does to put someone to death.

I'd much rather scum like this rot in prison for the rest of their lives than cheer on state sanctioned murder in the guise of justice. Just because there are people out there without humanity doesn't mean we should surrender our own for an excuse to engage in cruelty to someone we believe deserves it. At the end of the day, most people who support the death sentence just want an excuse to engage in their own bloodlust.

Yeah its more expensive to kill someone than keep them alive..

Also, I see the death penalty as the easy way out. I know for a fact, if I was doing something that got me life..and the option of dying was there instead..I would want the death instead of 50 years licked away.

Always confuses me somewhat, how it seems many death row inmates are still trying to get it changed to life, or when court cases are all about avoiding the death penalty..

You should probably pay less attention tabloids that make out prisons are holiday camps in order to get armchair warriors mad. I doubt any of us could cope well with a long term prison sentence.

Also, for the sake of completely smashing this post to bits, a lot more tax money would be going towards the execution process then it would to keep someone confined so if you're so worried about money, you shouldn't really be arguing for the death penalty.

It's not the money in worried about, its how its getting spent. I would be far happier paying a bit more to have him hanging thank you.

Well I share that right wing view.

A convicted Paedophile is not likely to change their ways as they've already acted on their urges before, what's to stop them from doing it again?

I mean this guy for example isn't gonna go from 96 child sex offences to becoming an upstanding citizen, this isn't one of Hollywood's ****ed up redemption arcs in a TV Show or Film.
