True. And even now that it's common knowledge that paedophilia is rife in [almost] all organised regions, these despicable people still seem to be protected.

I'm not even going to go too far in this debate as I've been attacked for my beliefs before. But I can tell you that it's not the religion causing pedophila it's that pedophiles worm there way into religions to find vunerable people. It's the same in all religions and all walks of life. You will find corrupt police, corrupt firemen, pedo teachers, doctors that sexually harass. It's doesn't mean that all those walks of life everyone in them is a pedo. And justice does get served believe me. I agree with this but where I do have a problem with the organisations is when they close ranks and protect the paedophiles which certainly happened within the Catholic church. The cover ups and moving Priests around to protect them in Ireland in the not too distant past for example

I'm not going into details but I have a family member who had something similar to happen to her and the guy that did it wasn't protected. She received so much support. I'm not saying it doesn't happen in places but it shouldn't happen and it isn't a rule of the religion to happen either. Somewhere along the lines things aren't dealt with in the correct way but thats because some people are stupid and sometimes biased. But everyone I know would never support a pedo and would always support the victim. I just hate when people label the whole religion and make us out to be a bunch of perves. It's gross

I don't want to pry into personal details but I wonder how long ago that happened. I don't think for example a priest would get away with that nowadays in Ireland because the church doesn't have the power over everyone that they had back in the 80's and even into the 90's

I'd heard before Jehovah's Witnesses were pretty insular, but I didn't think it went to the point of protecting paedos... Molesters within the Catholic Church are well known, and islam literally worships a molester, so it's a problem with a lot of religions...

What I'm saying is I have a lot more information on my religion than anyone else and I have seen with my own eyes how things are handled and how they should be handled.

Unfortunately there can be times things happen and people slip through the net. But it isn't a rule of the religion to protect them. We find it all as disgusting as anyone would and I have many family members who are elders and really wouldn't support a pedo!

It's just us a religion that always seem to have these labels thrown at us yet of you saw a headline saying Muslims are a bunch of violent rapists. Imagine the flack. Yet you will find a couple of violent rapists that are Muslims

A pedo is a pedo no matter what religion or maybe profession they claim. It's that person that's the problem and not the religion nor the profession.

There are a lot of lies spread but as someone that's seen it with their own eyes just telling it how it really is
