When a ruling monarch dies the protocol is to allow the inner family circle time to grieve before informing the public.

I hope that the Media allows the family to actually grieve.

People should not be kicking-off just-because football/their favourite shows aren’t going to be airing in live-time over the next 2 or 3 days. How many times in your lifetime is a monarch of 70+ years going to pass-away?

Denver, His Majesty King Charles 111, IS the full heir to the throne.
He is the eldest child of The Queen born in 1948.
Anne was born 1950.

Im sorry but I only respect 2 of her children, the one who is just as strong as her mother and the other who has gone about his royal life quietly

Personally think Lizzie should be the last monarch, the rest of them aren’t held in anywhere near the same amount of respect that she had and they never will so there’s literally zero point

True, I think William might have had a shot at matching her but not Charles

Yeah nobody will be able to replace her, she's left a huge legacy . Such a full life ,adored & respected by so many people around the world. And Charles will never have anywhere near the same popularity, and the warmth that The Queen received.

But they'll never abolish the monarchy.

I never noticed the blackness of her hand meeting Truss until Annie mentioned it on here today. I'd thought she'd looked quite well but reflecting now its incredible that she received Truss at all 2 days before her death with everything that came with it. There must have been so much fuss around the choreography, her dress, her appearance etc. It must have been a massive imposition when she was so frail but she still went through with it so professionally

I get that there are many different, and equally valid viewpoints on her passing. Some are in bits, others, like me, not so much. I don't think forcing folks to mourn her is in anyway what she would have wanted, and the length of her "rule" shouldn't be the spectacle. I was hoping that whenever she passed, a sensible dialogue could be had on the worth of such an outdated concept, but that obviously isn't going to happen.

Mother T was an arse that purposefully kept the poor in poverty, as she rode private jets and had billions in her personal accounts, but that's for a different thread, on a different day.

i think she did that meeting with Truss through sheer force of will. I'm not a monarchist and the queen wasn't perfect, but her sense of duty and love of her country could only be admired

I personally am with the many people that would rather a tribute paid to the Queen rather than dictating to people what they can and can't watch, that is just common sense imo.

Imo the Queen should be being celebrated in a more healthy manner, not by forcing her on people whether they like it or not.
