Tumble-dry, baby. Ain’t got no time to be hanging up jeans on little pegs when sun’s not guaranteed |

I’ll elaborate a little more on the title when I draw up the inevitable poll but I’m just going to ‘let it rhyme’ for now.

Line dry is the best but sometimes you just have to tumble due to weather conditions

Yeah but you can’t guarantee that the weather’s going to be permissible for it in this part of the world. Even heatwaves like we’ve had this month bring with them roaring thunderstorms. What are you going to do then?

Maybe it’s been different in Ireland but here in England this heatwave’s been 3 parts sunny and one big part rainy as hell.

That’s if you can even get to your line before lightning strikes (I’m talking about it in magnified terms because the heatwave’s brought all sorts of weather extremes our way this month). It can start pissing down within the blink of an eye.

I don't even have a tumble dryer now. If i've hung my washing out and notice after a while it's raining, i just bring it in. Not the end of the world. I know it's for different for families, but when there's just one or two of you there's really no need for a dryer. The electricity they must burn through too?!

I usually use a line whenever the weather is right. I use https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather and the weather app on my phone to check.
Tumble dryers are pretty expensive to run, about £0.65 for an hour at current prices I think. |

I enjoy getting my clothes outside to dry in the good weather and I know most people think the opposite from what I'm going to say but I don't like the smell of them when they dry outside :/ also the spiders creep me out I don't get why those little 8 legged arrogant ****s always have to take up residence on the washing poles
![]() So I'm in between I guess |
