As a kid in Africa there was no tv.
![]() Mind you we didn’t have time for tv, too busy enjoying sunshine and outdoor activities. |

the funk of 40,000 years!

I can't really think of anything specifically aimed at children that made me cry or roused feelings of genuine terror in me when I was a child. One of the few things I remember making me cry as a child was watching the end of The Elephant Man where Merrick seemingly commits suicide via lying down and suffocating under the weight of his own head.
As to a feeling of real terror, I remember convincing my parents to let me stay up late and watch Halloween H20 alongside them. I immediately left the room after I saw Michael Myers slit Marion Chambers' throat with a huge kitchen knife. ![]() Obviously I saw things like Goosebumps or Are You Afraid of the Dark and those naturally creeped me out and made me feel uneasy, but nothing in those sorts of shows ever really 'got' me and shook me up enough that I'd call them traumatic, etc.
