So I ventured out on this very cold morning, it's minus 3 degrees here! Eek!
I wanted to go to the CO OP bakery section, it's only a ten minute walk so not too bad. Got chocolate croissants for our breakfast. Anyway, to get to the point of the thread...on the way back I cut through the little park and saw a man walking his dog. A springer spaniel just like the one we had as children, and the eyes were almost identical. So that tugged at my heartstrings but then even more was to come. The dogs name was Patrick which was my dad's name. I truly believe I've been sent a sign. Some may scoff and say coincidence. But I believe. My dad died on Christmas Eve, so it's not that long away. Have you ever had any signs?

I hear my grandmother sometimes. I hear her unmistakable voice. I know she's still around us, I believe those we love never really leave us so I don't think that it's beyond the realms of possibility that a loved one will send you a certain way in order to show you a sign. I'm sure there will be plenty of cynics to deny it and give you a hundred reasons why we're wrong but frankly I just feel sad for them.

When my Grandad worked, he was a grave digger for a big cemetery in Manchester and I asked him once if he was scared when he was there and it was dark. He always sadi "don't be scared of the dead kiddo, its the living that hurt you". He always said when he died he would come back if possible to let us know he was ok. I **** myself when he did die and didn't sleep for weeks after thinking I'd wake up and he'd be sat on the end of my bed

Great post. Plus I'm so glad you still sense your Grandmother. Beautiful words, thank you for sharing that. Yes I do agree and believe in spiritual signs. Absolutely. |

This Witch doesn't burn

A few years ago I was in a hospital in London waiting for my aunt to get out of surgery, I was killing time and found myself in an empty corridor that looked out over the gardens and suddenly I smelled Old Spice which was the aftershave my Uncle used to wear, he has been dead for some years, I looked around but there was no one at all around ....it was uncanny..... so I would say yes....

Life is more spiritual than physical, so most-definitely.

You’re still on my ignore list (I just chose to view and respond to this) so this thing between you and me here now ends here.

What I said to Zizu also applies here. I’m not getting into this debate with someone like you.

The fact that you refer what I’m implying back to old wives’ superstition proves exactly my point that you just don’t know what I’m talking about. But that’s on you. Enjoy your spiritually unseasoned life. Me, I’ve said my own.

Things like this are a very personal thing...patronising anyone's beliefs either way is pretty sad IMO.

That's why I said anyone's beliefs either way. If you believe, you believe. If you don't, you don't. No-one should take the piss either way.
A personal belief is just that....personal

One thing that’s always apparent in discussions like this is how one-sidedly intolerant people operate of experiences they have no awareness of or don’t want to understand. On this forum it rarely starts the other way around. It’s always people who lack any kind of spiritual conviction whatsoever taking the piss out of people who believe, calling them mad, fake pretenders. Me, I know I don’t ridicule someone-else’s personal spiritual/religious beliefs (or lack thereof) unless someone starts with me.

I'm not bothered by the naysayers. I believe and that's that.

And that’s absolutely fair and valid.
