i find it very difficult to watch series that are drip fed. I much prefer to binge watch.

The drip feed scenario was very important when things were on network tv or satellite because it gave people time to watch it and discuss it at the coffee machine on a break. These days, not everyone has access to the same streaming services so it's more difficult to generate an audience. The easiest way to generate an audience now is to make entire series available at the same time

Of course the streamers want you to subscribe for the longest period, hence why the last stranger things series was dropped in two parts, with weeks in between the drops

…also I think with how we watch TV atm and the added thing of the internet…it’s much easier for spoilers to be there, which are much more avoidable with binge watching….but yeah, same as you…I’m a serial binge watcher because I get too distracted with other stuff to watch in real time …and then I might catch a spoiler (accidentally…) that reminds me to watch but also gives away an ending or important part etc…

…I love miniseries……they’re a short sharp fix to my addiction…

…just going to watch the last 10 minutes of Missing You…it’s been an enjoyable series …no huge twists or turns but ticked along at a good pace and all in all a nice watch…

…oh I just finished binging that one yesterday…I quite like the Harlan Coben TV series adaptions…some can feel a bit samey but they’re generally a nice easy to binge watch and filled with lots of mystery and twisty storylines…I binged The Strangers before Missing You as well and that also was a good storyline…

From his collection I think I've only watched this and stay close but I def want to watch the rest.

Missing you started off strong but ended up like an Eastenders Christmas episode.

I enjoyed it but it needed less subplots and a stronger finish imo

…I think the problem was that there wasn’t much left to reveal by the end…
Spoiler:

…other than Josh didn’t mean to kill her dad and the police guy, Staggers, wasn’t really a bad person like we thought…but those were just kind of ohs, and not omgs….

Poorly executed. Sometimes 1 or 2 twists only will do lol.

Watching Innocent today. According to Netflix I already began watching it and stopped at episode 3 but I don't remember so I'm starting again

Mario Casas is so fine though ugh!!!

…have you watched The Six Triple Eight/movie on Netflix…?…I haven’t watched it yet but it’s on my list and it’s Kerry Washington who I know you’re a fan of…

Yes I did and I loved it!! The actors were all amazing it.

Only read my spoiler after watching the film lol

Spoiler:

Rant. It has gotten on my nerves though to see people diminish their achievement "well done they changed the world by sorting mail while the men were out there. Ermmmm the point was they wanted to be out there in the field, we're training for it but they were demoted to sorting out the mail. The amount of mail was so huge that others had attempted to sort it and ship it before but had failed!! Soldiers and family not being able to receive letters from loved ones must've been devastating. The point of the film is about perseverance and achievement through adversity!

I've watched the first 5 episodes of The Wire.

And to try and be as balanced as possible here, where is this 10/10 masterpiece?

Don't get me wrong, I like the criminal/gangster side of the plot, and Lance Reddick (when actually utilized in the programme) is good, Idris Elba is alright in the Show as well (again when they bother to write for him.)

But my two big issues with The Wire's first few episodes are quite simple imo.

- Pacing from the Police side of the story is incredibly labored, a lot of their scenes just feel a lot more boring to watch imo, and less well planned compared to the criminals side of the story.

- McNulty has to be the most cliched lead that I have seen in some time, he needs more interesting material imo.

So far The Wire feels like a standard 5 to 6/10 Crime Show.

Does it actually start improving?

Please , please , please persist !!

It gets better and better as the budget increases with each series ..

Also each series has a different ‘theme’ with new characters / actors but with the old characters storylines also being entwined, seamlessly .

The biggest and best characters haven’t emerged yet !!

…I watched a miniseries on Netflix called The Breakthrough, which is based on the second biggest criminal investigation in Sweden …and eventually a genealogist helped the investigation team….an horrendous murder of a child and an unrelated woman and a truly fascinating true case story that was never allowed to ‘go cold’ by the team of detectives…

A friend introduced me to that recent K-drama series The Glory, about the school teacher who implements a plan many years in the making, in order to exact vengeance upon a circle of friends who bullied/tortured her during their childhood. It's honestly one of the most engaging shows I've ever watched. If my friend wasn't so eager to watch it alongside me, I'd have binged the whole thing in one night lol.
