I see what you're saying but to be fair there's a bit more to it than that - e.g. perhaps a tech billionaire best known for making **** electric cars with shocking production standards MIGHT be wasting time and money trying to build space-ships... and I think it's fairly valid to find it a bit gross that the world's richest man spends a not-small-chunk on cobbling together the world's most expensive fireworks.

i don't think he does much these days apart from post on X. With regards to him taking drugs, as an outsider all people can really say is he has been eratic and has become more eratic over the last couple of years. I've no idea if that's related to drugs or not. It's also the case that he is the richest man in the world, i've no idea how i would behave if i were in that position, but i'm sure I would be seen as eccentric

The Starship rocket isn't safe for astronauts. If that explosion had happened with people in it there would be no way to escape it. Also the reentry, when coming back, needs to work perfectly. Those were the two problems that the space shuttle always had that made it more dangerous.

Elon has been saying recently SpaceX are going to send unmanned Starships to Mars next year. That's obviously not happening. It is supposed to be used as well for Nasa's next moon landing, but proving that is a way off.
