I'm going to Minneapolis for a wedding in a couple of months. Booked my flights ages ago and they were very expensive but have apparently come down a lot now because of the drop in tourism

Minnesota is reeling after a deadly overnight attack on state lawmakers that authorities are calling a “politically motivated” assassination.

State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed at their home in Brooklyn Park early Saturday morning.

Just hours earlier, State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also shot multiple times in a similar attack at their nearby residence. Authorities are “cautiously optimistic” they will survive, Gov. Tim Walz said in a news conference.

The gunman, who remains at large, was impersonating a police officer, authorities said. Inside his car, they found a manifesto naming numerous other lawmakers and public officials.

A community is now sheltering in place as the manhunt for the suspect continues.

I don't watch msm television, but I'm guessing this story started out as breaking news, but has took a back seat of recent hours.

I'm just saying that because this story, and a story of this calibre has really struggled to get the opinions on here, whereas a big msm story would be on page 7 or 8 by now.

There's just no level of respect given to any of them, and in current society we do have a lot of people dehumanizing Politicians, which does lead to situations like this.

…. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were shot with 17 bullets in all..9 in the Senator and 8 in Yvette…I’m no expert or authority on these things but that to me doesn’t sound like a professional assassin ….glad he’s caught now and can’t harm anyone else…

shooting the senator 9 times, and his wife 8 times is such horrible overkill, disgusting as if murder wasn't worse enough, this sicko had to really shoot them multiple times
