No, not correct. We paid back international aid donated during both world wars, as Ukraine is expected to do so this time.

Thing is though, the areas being fought over are areas with many of the population wanting to be part of Russia, they were persecuted for this and murdered by the Ukrainian authorities during protests. It is in simple terms, an area where some of it's population wanted to break away from the soveirgn state. Those people in the fighting regions, you could say are the Glasgow, whilst them down south, building the luxurious ski resort arentje english in London..Historically rubbing it in.

I don’t really think you compare the two eras. The only part of the UK not frequently bombed was Northern Wales and most of Scotland. Travel was limited both during the war and of course in general around that time due to the lack of accessible public transport and low percentage of people driving.

Added to that, the wars were very very different and the time was very very different.

Saying Ukraine is undeserving of private firms investing in its future tourism to ensure economic growth post-war because their government are taking loans to help with war from a country who themselves took loans to help with a war is an odd take but fair enough if you don’t want to budge on it.

The West of Ukraine is being redeveloped significantly - this is to ensure continuation of trade, future tourism and a way to secure its future economics.

Presumably Putin won’t just settle for ‘part’ of Ukraine … plus I would have imagined he’ll want to take ownership of the super duper Ski resort as well ??
