I agree.

It's a bizarre Advert imo, was it intended to be funny?

I think it was some Audiobooks weren't it?

I'm not really sure though.

Seriously, Puro needs to give it a rest with the over-simplification of what it means to have masculine or feminine body-features, and how to shut down oestrogen like it’s the enemy. It’s short-sighted and misogynistic, and it seems to be plastered all-over Instagram now.

Fair enough.

At least you're not defending the sniffing Adverts.

Sniffing triggers my misophonia (which is better than it was years ago but still not 100% cured) so I probably wouldn’t find that kind of ad., if it’s as you say it is, amusing. I couldn’t. ‘Historically’, since the whole thing started, I am allergic to sniffing. Better than it was, like I say, but it’s probably gonna be a while before sniffing is ever not inherently a pet peeve for me.

It's for the best that you haven't seen them.

Especially if you suffer with Misophonia, as you can very audibly hear the sniffing sounds in both of the Adverts that I'm thinking of.

It's disgusting imo.

I hate the Maltesers ad "This is Gerrard, Grandma's companion". And they all sit and stare at him in silence. I want to see Gerrard man up and say, Well you're a ****ing ignorant bunch, aren't you?!

Yep. Misophonia’s ironically mostly a silent, an invisible, condition so most people don’t notice, and half of them wouldn’t even understand if you pointed it out anyway, but it’s not pleasant. But you don’t even need to have misophonia to find sniffing/people repeatedly twitching their noses irritating. I had a teacher once (Year 6) who would actively clamp down on people sniffing, because she was just like me in that fundamental regard, and she probably genuinely must’ve been, to be fair. Because 7 times out of 10 sniffing’s one of those sounds you either don’t notice at-all or you’re more especially tuned into and irritated by, misophonia or no misophonia. You probably wouldn’t insist on people blowing their noses as sniffing arises if you’re genuinely unbothered by it.

Toilet-paper flushing unevenly, forcing you to wait until the next toilet-cycle to flush the remaining sheets, is pretty irritating. Especially when yo. ’phone’s on 1% (yes, my ’phone does follow me to t’bog).

The fact that openly reflective listening, and being able to relate with someone’s experiences when they’re venting or offloading a little, isn’t always regarded as highly as quieter listening. Sometimes it’s nice for someone to directly relate with you rather than just keep the verbiage going with lots of generic “Uh-huh”-s. There’s a difference between making it all about yourself and just offering a bit of gentle, open reflection in a conversation.

As reserved as I am, I’m still a sucker for a two-sided conversation, even when the other person’s doing more listening. I think for a lot of people it’s about quietly craving reciprocity amidst being reflective or however socially mellowed down your disposition is. You still want the other person to be tuned in, and you need words to fill in the blanks. Some of us are more wired towards wanting that mutuality and more direct two-sidedness in at-least certain convos than others, innit.

Likewise for sympathy not always being regarded as highly in value as empathy. Both are incredibly important attributes for at-least some people in this world to be capable of. And that’s something I feel like the likes of even Samaritans, as great as they are otherwise, to take more note of.

…they’re sponsors though, aren’t they…Howden Insurance are of the British and Irish Lions…so obviously those ads from companies mean essential funding so are a good thing from that perspective…

…yeah I do get that also…but without sponsorship there wouldn’t be a game is the thing also …so they’re an essential distraction, I guess…it’s not so much that they’re something that’s wanted, they’re something that’s needed…

How difficult it is to find a greetings card that isn't incredibly bland, overly soppy or just full of cliches. I was trying to find a wedding card for my friend earlier and there were dozens to choose from but hardly any variation. They're all just white/silver/grey, feature rings/hearts/cakes and have some AI written romantic slop or poem in the middle. I just want a bright and cheerful card that is blank inside so I can wish them well in my own way, why is that so hard to find its the same whenever I need a father's day or mother's day card as well

Try a best wishes or good luck card? They are sometimes blank inside.

Lol possibly.

Anyway do you have a Card Factory shop local to you? They have a fair range of general cards which are blank, staff are normally helpful when locating them.

…I generally buy blank cards at smaller independent boutique style gift shops that aren't card shops as such …I always seem to find what I want in those little gift shops…I very rarely look for one at a dedicated card shop or supermarket section…I don’t know if you have any similar type small shops where you are…

…like this type of thing, quite simple designs and blank inside so you can write your own personalised romantic slop inside…

…or can you design/personalise and send the card…moo pig or something…?..

I do but I'd like it to be a wedding card really, just one with the right vibe. Thanks for the idea though, could always have a browse and might find something

I used to have one like that just up the road from me which was always handy. I don't have one where I live now but I could probably find one on my lunch break when I'm in the office. I also have a Scribbler near my office and I like their cards because they're always very loud and cheerful

But anyway I did find one amongst the rubbish earlier that I think will do so please nobody trouble yourselves further on my account
